Question about Toshiba MW24FP1 24 in. TV/VCR/DVD Combo
The DVD player is not heavily used, but has stopped working. Only advice I have seen is to take out the DVD player and clean it manualy. Probably dust in the player. Does this sound right?

Yes, put lens cleaning disc in eve player and try to clean its optical lens, if that does not solve the problem, optical lens may need cleaning manually, take off top cover and clean optical lens with good quality cotton swab gently in circular motion and check if it reads disc now.
If problem still not solved then I'm afraid, dvd player needs new optical block and local tv repair shop will help you because optical block replacement requires expertise.
