Letters on Gateway desktop keyboard not working. Tried Rebooting.

At first, rebooting seemed to fix the problem, but it no longer does. Only my arrow keys work. I am running XP., and have not recently installed any new programs/software.

First check the Device Manager and see if there is a problem with the device driver. If you see a yellow! or a redX, then right click on it and choose to update the driver. In fact you may just update the driver anyway, it will not hurt anything. If updating the driver does not work there is not much else you can do with a keyboard; they are pretty simple machines. You may have to just replace it.

hi

try rebooting the system (i think its F8, to get to SAFEMODE) . in DESKTOP , right click and go to PROPERTIES, go to SETTINGS, go SCREEN RESOLUTION and take the arrow to the left ; set to 640x800 and and take the color setting to 256 drop down . hopefully this works after rebooting the system. if it doesnt, it may sound like the inverter card may be bad (PC bourd that connectes to the screen : this requires a service technician)

good luck !

Windows deactivated for two days tried everthing i can rebooting rebooting going mad

If you have purchase the Operating system from Microsoft you can call them and get it activated . If you have installed it on your own using a un licensed copy You will have to purchase the Genuine copy of Windows to get a activation key. You can try contacting (mahhek.net) These people helped me to Activate my copy of windows when I had a similar issue. They charged me something like $20 and the issue was fixed in a while.

My Gateway GT4010 PC keeps rebooting itself before

Try replacing the hard drive cable. If that doesn't fix the problem, then you may have bad RAM, bad motherboard or a bad power supply. Sounds like a hardware issue and not software. try booting your computer in safe mode since it doesn't load all the device drivers. If it still reboots then you'll have to keep swapping parts and booting up the computer to isolate the problem.

Keyboard trouble

you need to reload that software that came with the keyboard. Uninstall the keyboard from device manager :- Control Panel>system>device manager. Then reload the software for the keyboard, which should also have the drivers. If you do not have the software, let me know the make and model of the keyboard and I will see what I can do.

Hope this helps

Gateway keyboard shows a lock

I'm not sure what I did that unlocked the keyboard, but I was finally able to turn off the green light. I tried rebooting and pressing all sorts of buttons, but the one that might have worked was the 'end' key.
