Attach a monitor to the external VGA port and activate it by pressing Fn and I believe F8.

No post screen on zd7410us

Ok the 1millionth dead XP, its dead product now for 3years at microsoft. (zero support now)
a virus magnet too.
1: does it run in F8? safe mode, LCD and external VGA jack?
2: does a linux boot cd work, proving all is ok but HDD or windoz?
3: BIOS always works, ?
Id say windows is infected.
in F8 mode windows uses baseline WHQL driver that must work
or windows is dead, (infected ) or HDD bad. or GPU chip bad.
If BIOS works the GPU is ok, see?
if F8 works and booted to say a linux LIVE CD works
then windows is borked,
press F11 and reload windows, now.
if it wont load hdd is toasted. (this is the HP recovery partition)

other causes, i cant watch you but the system can overheat.
and all shut down that way. CPU and GPU.

Screen wont work

Try the following solutions:
  1. Connect the laptop to an external monitor, and if it works, there is a problem with your LCD.The problem could be that the back light isn't functioning or your LCD has broken.Go to the service center and get it replaced.
  2. If in the above case, your external monitor too shows no response, that means that your graphics have been spoilt. You need to replace the motherboard in this case.
  3. Try resetting the BIOS manually and then re-starting,if this works, you need not take he laptop to the service center

Monitor is blank!!!!

Firstly, the LCD+external setting will switch one or the other or both on.

Secondly, if you go into your display properties (or even the advanced page where your video card additional features are) you can usually select which monitor is "primary".

I suspect that your external display is primary, and the LCD screen is not "enabled" or used as part of the desktop.

The settings are all there, it's just a matter of finding them (depending on what video card is in whatever laptop you have)

This might have happened in the first place if you accidentally hit "Fn" and one of the "F" keys up the top. Fn + F6 on my laptop will switch LCD/external monitors on and off. (for example) There is usually a little blue picture on one of the "F" keys to denote that function.

Input not supported

You may have a video resolution selected on your computer that the screen doesn't support.

The reason you see the the initial startup message is because that is loaded from the bios, prior to the settings for the graphic card output being loaded.

Try booting the computer in safe mode and adjusting the display resolution.
