Question about Polaroid FLM-4201 42 in. LCD Television
When i'll start the tv are not working,i'll have just sound and the screen are black
I have the same model, same problem. It doesn't need an inverter board. If its the same problem as mine was, it is a capacitor. I replaced the capacitor and it has worked fine since. It is a 220uf 450v capacitor on the right side of the top board. Its black and about 1.25" in diameter. It cost me $26.00, much better than the $250-$400 for someone to replace the whole board. Just check capacitor, if its domed or bubbled on top, it is bad. I have pics if you need them....firstname.lastname@example.org. Or more questions.

The power supply pn#860-AZ0-IPOS250H is around 100.00
and the control box is around 90.00
Mind you they are used but taken from good units.
If you get one remember to switch out the prom by the red LED if you get one from a different model such as the TLA-04011C

This may work as it appears to work for mine but is a bandaid type fix. I turned my TV on and immediately pointed a fan at the back of the TV and it appears to have solved the problem. I had heard these TVs overheat so I thought why not put a fan on it. I used just a regular fan and pointed towards the control box and my TV has been running for an hour and a half just fine. Previously the TV would last for ten minutes and then go black. So far so good. If anyone tries this, let me know if it works.

open the black plastic panel and the aluminum panel which has 3 screws each in the back of the tv.
look at bottom left corner of top board. to the right of the red led light,
there's these four white small switches. turn the bottom two switches to "on" and tv should be working.
It's very simple to fix the problem to everyone.
My tv capacitor was not the problem.
I hope this will help everybody.

I'm looking to purchase a broken TLX-04240B, the screen on ours is cracked. If you did not fix yours, I would be interested in purchasing it.
