Most likely you just need to re-install your modem (if dial-up) or ethernet drivers. If you do not have a drivers disc then you will need to use another PC with internet to get the drivers from the manufacturer's website. If previously setup - you do not need to re-install your ISP software as it usually just configures your router/modem and browser home page.

If you have any more questions, please provide the details of your system.

When I unistalled internet explorer 8 by accident but how do i reinstall internet explorer ?

Oops! Well, it may not be such a bad problem. This is what Microsoft has to say about it:
Reinstall Internet Explorer in Windows 8.1 and Windows 8 Because Internet Explorer is now a Windows feature in Windows 8.1 and Windows 8, you can't uninstall it. However, you can turn it off. To do this, follow the steps in the "Turn off Internet Explorer" section in Install or uninstall Internet Explorer (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/internet-explorer/install-ie) .

After you turn off Internet Explorer and then restart your computer, Internet Explorer will be removed from your computer.

You can also turn the Internet Explorer Windows feature back on to reinstall it on your computer.

Internet not conect

Hello,

If you are unable to connect to internet. There are few things you can try:

1) Reinstall the Ethernet drivers. Go to control panel> add/remove programs> uninstall the Intel or Realtek Ethernet drivers. Then reinstall the drivers from the motherboard disc provided with this pc. Make sure you install only the ethernet drivers.

2) If your pc is giving any kind of error message like limited connectivity then its a problem with your ISP(Internet service provider) or the windows operating system itself. Call your ISP and let them check the issue if they can't help go for a repair install of windows using the disc.

Hope that helps!

How to remove software counterfeiting in my desktop? please help!

It is not possible to remove the software counterfeiting message unless you you reinstall the operating system... After reinstalling the windows, turn off automatic updates in your computer and turn OFF synchronization with windows time server. That will help...
But you have to completely erase and reinstall the operating system on your computer and before connecting it to the internet you have to do all the above settings.

How do I get rid of a trojan horse on a windows opperating system. The computer works fine but I cannot connect to the internet

The best way would be to reformat the hard drive and reinstall windows. Make sure you have backups of any programs and files you want to keep and don't forget to reinstall your drivers. Download your network interphase card driver onto a flashdrive, external hdd, cd, etc. that way you can connect to the internet and download the rest of the drivers. Good luck.

Reinstall windows xp to laptop now cant connect to the internet

Hi there.
You may have to use a keyboard toggle command, hold down Fn and if you can see a wireless icon on one of the F keys press it.
Hopefully the wireless will activate and connect.
If you can't see the keys post back with the make and model of the laptop.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!!

I am a new Home Max customer and I have followed the instructions to connect my Live box to my PC. My laptop is working nicely wirelessly but my PC is not. The problem is that Internet Explorer keeps...

Reinstall the Internet Explorer, that will help.
U can reinstall Internet Explorer by clicking on start, control panel, add/remove programs, add/remove windows components, remove a checkmark next to Internet Explorer.
Then restart the computer.
Again go to start, control panel, add/remove programs, add/remove windows components, put a checkmark next to Internet Explorer.
Then apply, ok and again restart the computer.
Try to connect to internet and then check.
It will not close again.
Its possible that something might have been downloaded accidently and that is interfering with the internet.
It should work.
Otherwise, go to start, run, msconfig, startup, disable all, apply, ok and he restart the computer.
It will block some programs that may interfere with ur Wireless Internet Access.
It will work.
