Question about iLO DVDRH04 DVD Recorder
My nonfinalized DVD home movies that once played, no longer play on my iLO DVDRH04 DVD Recorder. Why?
I have tried different brands, but found Sony Dvd's to be the best.Yes, they may cost a bit more, but perform the best as well.

Dsics should be finalized shortly after recording is completed. Disc errors and anomalies wll occur in every recording after time, exposure to solar radiation, scratches, and as a consequence of "DVD rot". If the errors occur in a critical area of the disc, the recorder will no longer be able to recognize it and finalization will no longer be available.

This seems to happen with alot of dvd recorders especially if discs left unfinalised for long periods of time. This happens on all makes of recorders not just your model. Also the quality of the dvds being used can be the problem. How old is your recorder as the only other problem which could cause this is the laser losing power
