My 6920 has stopped playind blue ray disks it plays first few minutes until menu then freezes same place on every disk
please help
I have had the same poblems after buying my lap top from Currys. I emailed acer and all they would say is that all of the warranties have been taken over buy PC WORLD who are the same company. They then said that i should contact the tech guys. The tech guys tell you to restore to factory settings which tales off anything that you have already put on the computer. I then contacted the software tech guys £1.50 a minute line and the bloke i spoke to said that it was the fourth call that he had recieved that morning and the advice that he gave me was to return the computer as it was less than a month old and state that it was not fit for purpose. I took the lap top back to Currys and explained what i had been told to do. In the end they installed Power DVD 8 on my computer which allows me to play all blu rays on the computer. However i still can't connect the acer up to my HD eady tv without it freezing. It appears that the software supplied is absolutely **** but acer are happy to let you get on with it. The only real solution is to obtain third party software and update your graphics drivers. In time hopefully acer will release better edition of the pre installed software.
It is a real shame as the laptop is great apart from this blu ray issue which seems to be a well known problem as it is mentioned on many forums.
I hope this assists

Usually answered in minutes!
I've had my laptop for 3 days now, and I tried to play a Blu ray disc. It starts up and then a minute into it, it goes to a black screen.
Any ideas?
UK user,
Blue ray drive shows a DVD movie with no problem, I can explore Blue ray discs but they just won't play - the demo disc supplied with the computer does though!
PC world support can't solve it either.
They suggested taking it back to PC world to try another machine but advised that, because I had connected to the internet and downloaded the auto updates, the machines would show different properties. Love the machine but now feel let down by Acer - (who don't answer their e-mails!)
I have the same thing. I suspect the problem was caused when the update was done. Like you when I connected to the internet it offered to update various bits of the software and that's when the Arcade Deluxe stopped working. When I contacted Acer they said the only way to fix it was to do a factory restore by pressing F10 during boot up. You will however loose anything you have installed on your hard drive. I can't believe they can't make the Arcade Deluxe s/w available seperately. I bought Cyberlink PowerDVD Ultra instead to play my Blu-ray discs.
Thank you Eddie,
We bought Cyberlink PowerDVD Ultra and everything now works perfectly. We though that if we did the factory restore it would work only as long as we refused any more upgrades - one innocent click would take us back to the start!
Thanks again for the advice.
