The PUK code is (in my case) a an 8 digit number that I must enter to make the phone operable after someone (me) trys to enter my password and fails too many times.
I ran into this a while back before Singular became AT&T. I was locked out and I called Cingular and told the tech my phone was asking for a PUK code. I had to prove to him who I was somehow, I don't remember now how I did that. Maybe with my latest bill or something. Anyway he finally told me the numbers to enter. I wrote the numbers down first and then entered them. I've had to use them a couple of times since to get back in after I've locked myself out. It stays constant once you get the code. I have checked my phone under the battery and under the memory chip and these numbers are nowhere to be found on the phone. I SUGGEST YOU PUT A RECORDER ON YOUR PHONE OR HAVE SOMEONE LISTEN IN AND WRITE DOWN THE CODE WHEN YOU CALL AT&T. IT MAKE ME MAD THAT I OWNED A PHONE BUT AT&T KNEW A SECRET CODE TO MAKE IT OPERABLE. This is however a good feature though. I have my phone password protected so if I lose it and someone finds it they can only use it until they turn off the power one time and then they will get locked out and it will ask for the PUK code. Good luck, call AT&T and remember being nice will get you somewhere more then likely.
