No fix. Not Written for Xp.
Wikipedia

In 2002, Sega Smash Pack: Twin Pack was released on PC, and it contained both of the above collections. However there are incompatibility issues as a result of playing the game on Windows XP. When a user plays Sega Smash Pack 1 under XP, Games suddenly quit without error after a certain amount of time.

Your problem has to do with Windows Update causing the error.

Try clicking on the link below and run the Fixit from Microsoft.

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

Then run the Service Pack 2 download and install.

What Does It Mean When Support for My Operating System Ends?

Microsoft Support for Windows Vista (with no service packs installed) ended on April 13, 2010, while support for Windows XP (without Service Pack 3 installed) ended on July 13, 2010. Windows 2000 support ended on July 13, 2010 as well.
There is no Service Pack 3 for the 64-bit version of Windows XP. If you're running the 64-bit version of Windows XP with SP2, you have the latest service pack and will continue to be eligible for support and receive updates until April 8, 2014.
If you are still running a version of Windows where support has ended, it means that version of Windows will no longer receive any updates from the Windows Update or Microsoft Update site. These updates are generally provided for security reasons to help protect the PC from harmful viruses, spyware, malware, and other malicious software. Windows Update also provides new drivers for your hardware that can improve the reliability of Windows.
Hackers love to take a security vulnerability in Windows and exploit it to their advantage. So, if a vulnerability is found in Windows XP or Windows Vista and you are not running the latest service pack, you will not be protected and will be at risk.

How Can I Tell What Service Pack is Installed?
Follow these steps to discover what Service Pack is installed:
1) Click on the Start Button
2) Right-click on either My Computer or Computer (depending on your Windows version)
3) Click on Properties
On this window, it should tell you which version of Windows along with which service pack is installed). It should also tell you whether you are running a 32 bit or 64 bit version of Windows.

WinXP service pack 2 (&3) messing up graphic card for Acer Aspire

Reinstall XP, fully update it, download the installers for the latest drivers from
http://support.acer.com/us/en/drivers_download.aspx
uninstall the ones you have, reboot and install the new ones. The absolute next thing you must do is to install the antivirus.
When all that is done configure your pc starting with the display.

HP site said load XP SP3 upgrade Utility for system with AMD Processors. When I load this Utility and check for It is showing message Your system does not meet minimum requirements for this update. Update...

This means that microsoft has deemed your computer as not having the system requirements for the service pack.
Could be something as simple as you haven't installed service pack 1 ans 2 yet..
I would use windows update on your start menu, take all the recommended updates, generally once the updates required for service pack 3 are installed , then the next time you run windows update it will look for the next set of updates. sometimes it takes 2 or 3 update sessions to get the one you want if you havent updated your computer in some time..
regards..

On March 6, 2008 Microsoft released Service Pack 3 (SP3) for Windows XP. Service Pack 3 contains all of the important Windows updates from previous service packs as well as additional updates that were released after Service Pack 2. To install Windows XP Service Pack 3 from the Internet on a home desktop computer use the Windows Update feature. CAUTION: If you have an HP Pavilion, HP Media Center or Compaq Presario desktop computer that has an AMD processor, your PC might encounter a startup problem after installing SP3 (or SP3 will not download from Windows Update). Before attempting to install SP3, install sp37394 - Microsoft Windows XP SP3 Upgrade Utility for systems with AMD processors . I have windows xp and i attached usb2.0 with it but my pc not detecting my usb 2.0 but when i insert the usb in my laptop the green light is on of usb.what shoud i do

Hello there.

For Windows XP, support for USB2.0 is provided in the Windows XP Service Pack 2.

You most likely do not have this installed, to check do the following: right click "My computer" on the desktop, left click "Properties", Notice underneath where it says "System:"
It should say Microsoft Windows XP, Service Pack 2.

If yours does not, then you need to update to Service Pack 2 as soon as possible, as this includes many security fixes to keep you safe online.

Please click here to upgrade to service pack 2.
