Charging the Battery

I bought a sylvania smp 1012 1gb mp3 player last week. I got it to store my music however i don't know if the battery is bad or what. is has a selfcharging battery and the manual says that it charge when the player is on. it says that the light will come on when it is charging and when the light is out it is charged. well my light blinks. it will play for a second then it quits. What do i do?

SOURCE: Battery charging

I think it will start charging if you hook it into your computer.

SOURCE: 1g mp3

that depends, when you bought the mp3 player did it come with an USB charger?
also, do you have to put batteries in it?

if A is true and B is false it is charging, else check the manual or post the actual name of the mp3player in here

SOURCE: charging the battery on a sansa mp3 player

Do you have the USB cord and a laptop? you plug those into each other to charge it or you get the DC adapter.

SOURCE: charging battery

you might have a faulty charger or the battery just won't charge , if you can exchange it back at the store I would do that , but otherwise the charger would have to be tested and the battery , and if those are ok then something is wrong in the mp3 player

I loaded music on my Sylvania SMPK4083 used it once at home and once at work and now it does not work. The ear piece sounds funky and far away like I'm in a tunnel. I bought new ear pieces and it still...

It sounds like the battery has low voltage. Maybe it requires charging, Some types of batteries will "struggle" on after they are discharged, providing not enough power to properly amplify the music. Give the battery a full charge and try again.

My mp3 player, model smp-2gbl shuts down after being on about 3 mins. This is even when a brand new battery is in it. What can I do? This is only 4 weeks old and my 3rd one of these since Nov. thanks

I have a smp-2GBL and hooked it up to my mac book it was shutting down just like you said when it showed up as a mounted disk on the desktop I deleted all the extra files only left the music folders and deleted the recording files as well but left my mp3s and there folder and the recording folder with no files in it then I emptied the trash. On the mac it says this is a locked file but I just hit continue. disconnected the MP3 player with out ejecting. then reconnected the device to check to see if the files where gone and they where. Put a new battrie in it and tryed to start the mp3 player it takes a long time to boot. it shut down cuz I got boared weighting. I restarted the mp3 palayer and it booted in the normal time. I belive that these files are config boot files and get courpt dont know why. I belive this is why it took so long to boot the first time cuz it has to redbuild these files based off the content. Anyway it works now.

I CANT CHARGE MY MP3

see if the battery is chargable and the player is equipped with charging. However I would suggest to change the batteries. AAA are easily available at low cost.

Won't play back and is no longer recognised by my computer

Problem solved with my jensen SMP-1GBD MP3 player. I re-examined the instructions & followed them exactly as they were written, then the unit worked just fine. What I found out was that you first have to plug in the ear phones, then you have to hold down the "on", button for three full seconds before it will turn on. It was just a case of not following the proper procedures as written on page four under the "Power on/off ", section of the directions.

Sylvania smp 2002 cant load any music on it

Push in the USB cable all the way into the player. It will only plug in halfway when you first try it, go ahead and jam it in. will work fine after that.

E280 not charging

You might have to get a new charger--But be careful. If the charger isn't made especially for the Sansa e280 there's the possibility of it messing up the mp3 player itself.

It could also be your computer's USB port. Try using a friend's computer or a different USB port perhaps and see if it works then.
