I have a Toshiba Laptop which I purchased in 2007. I had the Vista
operating system replaced with an XP Professional operating system. I have not been able to send/receive email. Can someone help me to set up an emailing program?
This is not an OS problem. It is a configuration problem with your email client. Your best bet is to contact your ISP and get them provide you with the settings. If you are using AT&T, they got hacked last year and changed their ports from 110 & 25 to secure ports 995 & 465. Many people (including AT&T technicians and many IT pros) are not aware of the other changes you have to make with these settings.

it depends on your operating system your using ex. windows xp pro, windows 98SE,vista,linux,ubunto...in xp click start-all programs-accessories-system tools-system restore from their choose a restore point to an earlier time before that problem occurs
I found it on their site:
And Yes win Xp seem to be supported
you have to use a standard windows start up disk with cd rom support like win 98 works well so the computer will recognize a older version then insert it and boot the computer with the operating system that u want to install but be advised if you have a warranty on the machine you will void the waranty i found out the hard way i had xp on my toshiba laptop and i put windows me on it couple of months later i had a cd rom issue and sent it to the manufacture and found out that the waranty was voided because i put a different operating system on the machine
IS YOUR EXCEL 2003 OR 2007. I WILL TRY MS OFFICE 2007
BECAUSE VISTA SOMETIMES HAVE PROBLEM READING SOME PROGRAM IN MS OFFICE IN 2003. EVEN WORD 2003 SOMETIMES HAVE PROBLEM IN VISTA. DEPAND ON THE COPY YOU INSTALL. I HAD PROBLEM WITH IT SO MANY TIMES
Unfortunately, even though you have paid for a Vista license, this does not mean you can just install any copy of Windows XP. You need to purchase either Windows XP Home or Windows XP Professional. If its a business system you would be better with Windows XP Pro.
The reason for purchasing is that the software is licensed to you, you may wish to contact Toshiba and see if they can swap your Vista license for a Windows XP license. The other option is picking up a copy of Windows in the shop and installing it yourself. This is no easy task unless you have experience doing so.
Please try either contacting Toshiba to see what they say, or see about purchasing your own windows XP.
