I just purchased a used Espon 2200. Seemed packed well. Set it up, turned it on, all the lights are flashing and it won't print. Contacted Epson support and they said "The error condition that you are experiencing is the INK PADS." Is replacing the ink pads something I can do on my own? Where can I purchase the ink pads?

Usually when you receive this error its either the waste ink pads, has already to much ink on it where the inks go to when you clean the printhead.
Try going in this site http://inkjetprinterhelp.us/epsonSSC.html and download the SSC service utility.
then reset all the counters. After that the printer will be working fine, but there is a possibility that the excess ink will leak out on your printer.
Hope this would help
Ink cartridge is not seated. Take it out and push in until you hear a click. Get a CISS for your printer. It will save you TONS of MONEY, never change a cartridge again and it will pay for itself in a month. http://www.inkproducts.com/ink-store/
SSC Service Utility allows you to do many things to your Epson printer, Work directly with CSIC in Epson Stylus printers cartridges, Freeze internal ink counters, Reset internal ink counters even with empty cartridges, Separate cleaning of color and black heads for all Epson inkjet printers, powerful cleaning mode, Hot swapping of cartridges supported, Resetting of protection counter (even then it is already full), More then 60 different Epson printers supported
This allows many people with high printing demands to save money (program works with both black and color cartridges).
I had the same problem with the light black and light magenta as well. It took trying only one new cartridge with the light magenta before it worked. The light black took 4 new cartridges before it worked. I had called the Epson support center on this problem and after going through suggestions they made that did not work, I told the guy I had another new cartridge on hand. He said to go ahead and try it. This time the printer worked. He took my name and address and said the other cartridges were faulty. Epson is sending me new replacement cartridges at no charge.
You can replace the pads yourself.... I wouldn't really mess with it though. There are other ways Google search "Waste Ink Epson 2200" to see how to setup an external tank.. I have mine setup this way and its been no problem.... If you're set on taking them out remove the screws from the sides and middle and the bottom will drop away and reveal the pads.
