I tried updating OS on my blackberry curve 8310. Midway through the update, my laptop shutdown and the blackberry never regained conciousness. The status light blinks and i cannot get it to respond. My blackberry desktop software will not recognize the device anymore when it is connected... What can i do????

It will not even turn on anymore. The red light flashes on and off. Ive tried taking the battery out for an extended period but no luck. It was working fine until i tried to upgrade to OS 4.5 and midway through, my laptop lost power and the upgrade ceased. My phone will not turn on anymore nor will the desktop software recognize it when it is connected.

My laptop crashed during my update, and now my phone has a black and white screen with no options on it. It won't respond to the desktop manager. What can I do to fix this?

press and hold ALT + CAP + Delete to perform a reset.

Or take the battery out and wait 45 seconds and put it back in?

You can try updating your phone's operating system.Download the latest Desktop Manager here http://us.blackberry.com/apps-software/desktop/. Plug your phone into your computer by USB and the Desktop Manager should automatically start the update process. I believe Blackberry OS is up to version 6 now.

Blackberry curve 8310 fatal error during backup

I would connect the device to a PC and update the OS using Desktop Manager. If you recently installed any application, I would uninstall it as this may cause this type of behavior.

I updated and all my information was deleted.

click START>SEARCH>FILES & FOLDERS and search for this *.ipd. you will probabely find one with the date that you did the update to your blackberry. If you find this just cut and paste it to your desktop and then open Blackberry desktop and select backup & restore. Then select FILE and look for the .ipd file that you pasted to your desktop. All your info will be back to normal
