Hello Sir; My 2003 Lincoln Aviator cruise control will not activate at all when pressing the steering ON button. I read somewhere that I needed to change a switch under the master brake cylinder, which I did, but without any good result. The vehicle uses an IVD system and all instructions provided as per the previous search were carefully followed, but no result was achieved. Can you kindly guide me as to how best I can go around this to restore the problem. Regards Victor -
I think local auto body shops charlotte nc could help. It wouldn't cost anything to have them at least take a look at it.

If you know how to set your speed limiter. To set your cruise control, press the stalk in (to the right). The orange light on your dash should go out and you're ready to set your cruise control. You can start the cruise control by either moving the cruise control stalk up or down. Once you start the cruise control you can move the stalk up or down to increase or decrease your cruise speed. You can move it toward you to shut off the cruise control. You can press it in again to go back to the speed limiter. I hope this helps.
Get down and look at parking brake assembly, If you see an electrical connector, unplug it, see if that helps? If it doesn't help or causes other issues just plug it back in.
Of course that isn't the proper fix. If something wrong with parking brake assembly, get it checked out.
Once you have turned your cruise control on accelerate to desired speed press SET button on right hand side of steering wheel before lifting foot from accelerator, then remove foot from accelerator. pushing RESUME button will deactivate cruise control without turning it off. Then when clear of traffic push resume again to activate cruise control. It will automatically resume to previous set speed.
check the adjustment under the clutch and brake pedals If the rubber stops are a bit dodgy then the pedal will not activate/deactivate the controls for the cruise.
My 2001 Lincoln ls cruise control will not work. Put in a new clockspring and that did not fix it. radio controls and horn work but the air bag light stays on continually after starting. The lights on the cruise side will go on an off -I have bought that part to replace but don't want to put on if that is not the problem.
The cruise control switches are located on the steering wheel. When the cruise control is turned on there will be a green light luminated on the dash that says "cruise". When at the desired speed press "set" to set the cruise control at that speed.
Hello, First the vehicle has to be operating at least 35mph. There will be two sets of switches, one set is to the left and the other set is to the right of the horn on the steering wheel. The switches on the left will be labeled on/off, the ones on the right we be labeled Coast/Accel/Resume..
At a steady highway speed press the ON switch, (at the left hand side of the horn) This will activate and turn the speed control system ON...
Then you have to set and adjust your desired speed...
To SET YOUR DESIRED speed , press and hold the accel switch (Right side of Horn) until your desired speed has been reached and then release the switch.. Speed control will now be on, activated and set, you will be in cruise mode..
If you need to coast due to possible traffic, press and hold the coast switch as long as you need to.. This is like taking your foot off of the accelerator pedal.. When you let go of the coast switch you will return to you set cruising speed.
Stepping on the brake pedal at any time will deactivate the system.. If you step on the brake, and then want to return to your previous set cruising speed... All you have to do is press resume...
I hope this has helped you? You can find detailed speed control activation instructions in your 2005 Ford Focus Owners manual.. If you did not receive your owners manual when you bought the vehicle.. You can purchase one at your local Ford, Lincoln or Mercury dealership..
