First, ground your reverse wire anywhere on the chassis.
Second. If you are burning your own dvds , you have to convert them as a dvd movie and create your own menu. I use windows dvd maker and it work.. its a very long process but it work perfectly.
I also burn Music video with the same process but it appears like 20 movie in the menu.

I recommend you to try with an original dvd. If your problem persist, maybe contact your seller

I cannot play DVDs without the parking brake engaged how do i bypass this?

I ran across of alot of lcd head units that requiers the parking brake wire connected so it will show the video, (usually just audio if parking brake not on). But if you connect that wire to a proper ground (screen always on) or a grounded switch so you can control it maually (turn it on or off when you choose)

Parking brake by pass for my VW Jetta

on your main screen, change your source to "A/V In".. you should get a black screen. Touch the upper right corner of the touch screen and it'll pull up a number menu. Type in "7253" then hit OK. from there, there's a choice that says "brake" hit the right arrow till it says off. Then you're off and runnin SON!

Ddx512 Kenwood Parking off problem

Indash DVD units are programmed not to allow DVD's to play while the car is in motion. The unit only allows DVD viewing when the car is parked and the parking brake activated.

To get around this, you simply splice the parking break wire from the radio to the -NEG wire of the radio.

If this doesnt help let me know.

I have the avn2454 and it will not play a dvd

is the car in park? There is a manual override that must be done, as it is against the law to have video playing in the driver's view.
Put car in park and apply parking brake. Retry.

How do i bypass the parking brake switch in order for my video to play

1. FACTORY RESET METHOD (Temporary)
(This isn't the most effective, but it is the easiest to try, so it's worth a shot since it apparently works on some units.)
** Go to the Menu
** Get to the Settings Menu
** Select <yes> to Reset to Factory Settings.

2. AUDIO CD METHOD (Permanent)
** Insert Audio CD
** Press PLAY
** Press STOP twice on remote
** Enter 26604 on remote
** Press ENTER
** Take out Audio CD and Insert a DVD

3. DVD METHOD (Permanent)
