Question about MiniDisc Players

Sansa clip 2gb lockec

Locked up tight. Screen diplayes a song. Will not play. not recognized by PC connection. Cannot turn off Sansa. Basically can't do anything with it. Before this happened, songs would play exactly 3 min 4 sec and stop.

First of all, may I ask if you have a mini disc player or a Sansa Clip? Because the Sansa Clip does not play discs of any kind.

If you do indeed have a Sansa Clip you will find the FAQ rather helpful here - http://www.sansa.com/support/sansa_clip/faqs
Question 9 there is regarding devices not recognized by the PC and the solutions are as follows:
The most common reason for this problem is not having the latest Windows Media Player installed, or having a Windows OS version that is not supported by the Sansa player.
The Sansa players support Windows XP SP2 and Windows Vista and above. If your operating system version is supported by the Sansa player:
SOLUTION 1 – Download and install the latest Windows Media Player

SOLUTION 2 – If that didn’t help, and you are running Windows Vista, apply the following hotfix - KB940199
SOLUTION 3 – If that didn’t help, download and Install the MTP Porting Kit (click here)
SOLUTION 4 – If that didn’t help, try connecting the device to the PC using MSC mode

Clip: Go to Settings > USB mode & choose MSC

If none of the solutions work for you, please post the results of your attempts and we can go from there.

Says can't read MD

This is a best guess for an odd situation.

It could be you corrupted the MD somehow and can no longer play it. Since it is a portable I had a similar instance where I played the same song many times my disc did the same thing. I may have been running and giggled it at the wrong time. It is not impossible to mung a minidisc just unlikely.

Other options are you got dust in the minidisc and it is blocking the laser. I think I would try to make another MD of the song. If it only does it with a particular disc it is the disc if it does it will all of them the laser mechanism may be wearing out and is mechanically unable to slide to follow the track. I once lubricated the worm gear which moved the laser in an old portable which solved a similar situation.

I made and saved a master of a song, now i want to tweak it a bit but i'm not sure how to get rid of the current master. because it's saved i cannot do another. Help??

play the original song back. not the master, but the original song. tweak all you want and then master it again, the new master will replace the old one automatically.

How do i connect my sandisk clip to play through my sony hifi speakers

You need to connect the Sandisk unit to an AUX or TAPE INPUT on your amplifier, then the amplier will amplify the sound to the speakers. You could also use an amplied set of speakers from a computer.

Zen mp3 player not working.

I located a reset on the mp3 player and used it by inserting a paper clip in the little tiny reset hole. Fixed the problem, but trying to locate the reset hole is no small feat, a magnifying glass would probably be useful.

Sansa problem

just go to "My Computer" on your desktop or start menu and go to the removable drive which would be your mp3 player.
The hardware might be incorrectly linked to the computer, the usb cable could be messed up or the computer could just not read it without a cd to install the driver correctly.
