Disabled the video card so not the Compaq Evo N600c will not boot

In trying to resolve a video card problem, I believe, I disabled it and now the laptop will no longer boot. In the debugging 'boot' it reboots now the video is disabled. I don't know how to bypass this problem to enable it again. Can you help?

While booting press F8 and pick the option "enable VGA Mode"

1782 disk control failure / non-system disk or disk error That is all it does

Stop the laptop, remove the battery, remove the hard disk and put the jumper located at the rear of your hard disk unit in the CS pins. Then return the hard disk to your laptop and the battery. Start the laptop, go directly to the BIOS and set the following boot order: 1-CD, 2-HD, the rest disabled.  That should be enough.

How to boot from cdrom

I believe you hit F10 key to enter bios. Go to the advanced menu and select boot options. You can select in there what order the computer tries to boot from different options. You need to select boot from CD and put it in sequence before the hard drive. Most bios versions well give you a first, second, third boot device and so on. Set first device to CD rom, second to Hard drive 0, third to none unless you use a floppy drive to boot from (rare).

Wireless network card driver

Hello,

Go to this page and download the driver. Save it to a special folder so you can find it easily. The file names used give you no clue otherwise.

So, create these folders and save it to the last one:
c:\software\drivers\wireless

Let me know if this resolves your problem as there are some other updates that may affect your laptop's wireless performance.

And, would you please let m know what wireless card you are using?

Regards,
Worldvet

I do believe that there is no wireless switch on that model. To enable or disable the card is done through software. Check your Device Manager to ensure it is enabled and or correct drivers.
