Yes you can, you have three diferent lock options:
'channel' this option allows you to lock or unlock particular channels.
'program' this option allows you to lockout a particular TV show.
'game' this option allows you to lock channel 3 and channel 4 plus the external inputs.
To activate the game lock on the tv you need to press the 'menu' key then press the down arrow till you get to 'lock' and press ok.You will then be asked to input a password, if it is the first time you have used the password then you will need to input a code of your choice twice to register it (write the password down and put it somewhere safe) Then you will be in the 'lock' menu so using the down arrow go to 'menu' and select it then se it to 'custom' you will then be able to select the 'game' option by arrowing down to 'game' and select it so that it shows 'on'. Your tv should now have locked out the external inputs etc. To unlock it you go through this procedure again just this time you select so it shows 'off' You can also select 'custom' in 'game' mode which will allow you to select which external inputs to lock which is useful if you have DVD players or other devices connected to your TV and is something for you to consider. Full details of above procedure are in the user manual page 32 - 33 under the heading Lock.
I hope this answers your question.

The Uniden DECT6.0 come in various shapes and forms (many models). On the base you should have a button that says Play (or the picture of a play button with the arrows pointing right). Pressing that button will allow you to hear the messages. Also, you must have a button that says ERASE or shows a slashed 0. Press the button to erase the messages. You may hear a message telling you to press the button again to erase ALL messages.
Alternatively, you can play them from the handset. You might have a Play/Arrow button which you press to play messages. When you finish playing messages, you hear the phone reading a few menu options to erase, save etc.

You may have a problem with the transport of the dvd laser. Open the compartment that you place the dvd into. You will see the spindle, the laser lens and the transport device that moves it during operation. The transport system operates on system of gears and drive rails. You must check and clean the drive rails and gears. Use a can of compressed air and blow all the dust and debris from the dvd compartment. Then use some cotton swabs with a small amount of isopropyl alcohol on the tips and clean all the rails and gears. Check the transport action by moving the transport to its most outer position and back to its most inner position. The action and travel of the transport on the rails should be smooth and easy. The gears should be clean and move easy also. These parts will require cleaning every month or so . Remember do not touch the laser lens with your hand. You should also check the lens it should look bright and shine. If not try cleaning it with a cotton swab and a small amount of alcohol. Rub the lens gently back and forth unit it is bright and shines. Now you can try playing a dvd and see if the player works properly. If this does not fix you problem. You can reset the dvd player to the factory settings.1.Press the setup button on the remote control.2.Use the left and right arrows to highlight the preferences page.3.Press enter to to enter the preferences sub-menu.4.Use the up and down arrows to find the default function and press enter. You now have reset the dvd player to factory settings Now again play a dvd to see if the player is functioning normally. mine says NB108. You may have the correct remote. make sure after you push setup that you use the lower set of arrows, not the ones beside the play/stop buttons. this should allow you to move over and push right arrow, moving you over the disk options allowing you to format and other options. i can't tell you how many times i've pushed the wrong arrow and thought something was the matter. additionally, you may only be allowed to use up to 8x recording speed disks. i've had mine awhile, and have had a service pack that allowed me to go from 4x speed to 8x speed. there is no service pac to allow you go higher on the dvd-r. i believe the highest you can use on the dvd-rw is 2x.
hope this helps
