All of your speakers get power from your sub. The volume control may have failed or the connection to the sub may be loose or broken. The power light indicates only that primary power is getting to the sub; the amplifier ICs may have failed. It will be necessary to open up the sub (if possible) to find out what failed.

Sound isn't working, and there is no audio device to select from either. It is my friends computer (the email given is also hers). It's an HP computer, her son tried to get the sound to work and deleted...

Hi. It sounds like what your son did caused the audio service to stop.
Here's how to fix that, if it is in fact that.
First, click on the start button
Next, click on run, and type services.msc
this will open the services box
Go almost completely to the end of the list, and you will see windows audio
click on it one time, and if the audio service is actually running, then it will give you the options of stop, and restart service
If it doesn't say that it is running, then the only chioce it will give you is start .
click start, or restart, whichever one is offered.
next, double click on windows audio and a property box will pop up.
On the drop down menu in the middle, it will give three choices, automatic, manual, and disable
set it to auto
Next click on the recovery tab, and set all three drop downs to restart service
then click apply.
then close property box, and then close services box
reboot computer, and if that was the problem, you should now have sound!!

Windows update disconnected my Altec Lansing BX2 speakers sound. What should I do?

I had a similar problem with my Altec Lansing BX2 speakers. When bringing my HP PC out of "Sleep Mode" (Windows 7), I either had a blank screen with only a cursor or a desktop with no start menu, desktop icons or any means to operate the computer. After unplugging the speakers and hard booting the computer, the PC returned to normal operation. I'm looking for a solution myself.

Need the pairing code for bluetooth device to my Altec Lansing

Hi if your intentions are too connect your Phone to that bluetooth device , The paring code is what you make it , when you connect the two device's together , When you search for devices it will ask you to pair with that device , and you make the code anything you wish....Otherwise have a look at the manual under connection , it should have .
I hope this helped bud

Vista messed up speakers

hi Avsandrick
Happy Holidays!
Doing a driver search don't help much, so I recommend 2 things here, wait until MS, make a Service Pack Cd, for Vista, or go to the Altec Lansing Page and see if for your particular model, there are drivers for vista.
other than that, a generic sound driver, could fix the problem.

Altec lansing

I had the same problem. After numerous calls to Altec Lansing they sent me out a new one. The new one doesn't have the same connector on it. I called tech support only to hear that they discontinued the 621 and don't make parts for it. Sorry, you are probably out of luck.
