Hmmm, Well the virus protection slows the computer down more than any other program, as it is attached to everything in the system. Try these steps: Go to the start menu then to run and click on run. type in msconfig this will bring up the startup menu. Click on startup, then, Uncheck tools in start up menu( these items appear in the toolbar at the far lower right of the screen on the taskbar) that you don't absolutely need on startup. Select selective start up after deselect startup items. Click apply, a window will pop up that says windows startup has been changed. Select do not show this box again and then OK. Delete browsing history and cookies. Go to C:\ windows/ temp files/ and select all, then hit the delete key. Movies and pics and music take up a lot of disk space and can slow down you unit, so load your music and pics. on a disk or usb drive which is better for safekeeping anyway. Manage your add ons in the settings menu on you homepage, they will still be available but not active. Disable add ons, they slow down your unit. I would also run a complete scan of you computer, there is always a chance that you have a virus. Mke sure you update regularly, and I suggest the manual install so you don't get the extras that they add in. Also check and see if you have unwanted browsers or programs that you do not use and are not a vital component and delete or remove through add remove programs in the control panel. Good luck I hope this solves your problem. Please post a solved comment on fixya Let me know how you make out and please feel free to get back if you need more advice.
control panel-add and remove program(check if you got more then one antiwires on the computer, if yes then remove it) %temp% in run window, delet all temp files from it (if any pop up comes in while deleting it..just press skip) remove unwanted program or games or anything which you know but dont use it any more from the computer(add and remove program) try your connection in windows browser(try www.google.com inside the run window and see if its any faster, if it is then could be you browser, reset would help)
HI,
Go into safemode again and download this link just click on download now to get the latest malwarebytes and run it on your computer then after delete the quarantined files and restart your computer this should make it faster again if tstill the issue is slow then you may have to re-format you windows just to make sure everything runs fine again removing a virus is not that easy depends if it detects the virus, malware or spyware that is slowing your system down.
try Malwarebytes it worked for me an many as I know if it does uninstall it and format everything.
i also think so, your pc might have been infect by some virus, malware or spyware and it will result to computer running slow and freezes. it is always better to have a reliable software that can help you out with this matter and avoid further damage.
Depends- where is it exactly slow? is it while surfing the internet, or when running progrmas? either way, you can make it go faster.
If your internet is slow, you should scan your computer for viruses and spyware using suitable programs(for example- avast anti virus or spybot). If you still experience the same problem I would advise you to delete the computer after backing it up, and then installing a new copy of Windows.
if your problem is with programs running slowly- I can advise you to download this software, which can extremely help- CCleaner
One idea may be to go through your computer files and delete things you no longer need. You can also try emptying your cache from your internet browser. Another thing you may want to try is to add Ram (memory) or add another hard drive to your system.
why you are getting this issue is norton internet security as wellas trend micro both of them are firewalls so better you can keep one firewall so better remove the trend micro.
Try opening task manager (control, alt, delete) and stopping this program before you delete it. Subsequently, you can go to "My Computer" or "Computer" in Vista, then to your hard drive and delete the program from there. I've done this with many hard to remove programs, including spyware.
You first take out the web camera and then delete the icon on your desktop or if you don't have it on your desktop go to start and then you can delete it there.
I know this might sound crazy, but I want you to re-install the software. Yeah, that's right. Reinstall the software. Then restart your computer. Now try to go to uninstall programs and it will work.
