Some lines running horrizondaly if I review the pictures I took before this happenend. May I get your advise? Thanks

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:

I have a cannon power shot s1 is. When i look through the view finder or on the lcd monitor i get a very distorted image it is very dark like looking at somthing in the early morning fog.

Press display (DISP.) button to turn the display on. This button is located on the rear of the camera and toggles the camera's LCD display. The button is usually printed with <DISP.> on the button or above the button depending on the model. display_button.gif If pressing the <DISP.> button doesn't turn the display on, remove and replace the batteries in the camera. If this still doesn't correct the issue ..then there what cannon says to this error :

It has recently come to our attention that the vendor-supplied CCD image sensors used in this Canon digital camera may cause the following malfunction: When the product is used in recording or playback mode, the LCD screen and/or electronic viewfinder may exhibit either a distorted image or no image at all. While reports of this malfunction have been rare in the United States, we have determined that it may occur if the product is exposed to hot and humid environments.
Effective immediately, and regardless of warranty status, Canon will repair, free of charge, products exhibiting the above-mentioned malfunction if the malfunction is caused by the CCD image sensor. Canon will also cover the cost of shipping and handling in connection with this repair.

The screen of my camera looks like there is mist ,its not clear anymore ,what happen to it?

Without furhter info, I can only guess that you may have condensation in the lens. Did you go from a cool place to a hot and humid place? Camera needs to acclimate to the environment. If after a reasonable amount of time has passed and the mist is still there, you may have a moisture problem inside the camera itself. Did it get wet recently?

Hope this helps.

There is moisture coming out of the AC vents on my daughters 2006 s40, usually during very hot weather and not until the car has been driven for several miles

The drain on the evaporator is stopped up,look for it directly bellow the ac lines ,where they go into the car, under the hood,it will be on the bottom of the blower box,use air pressure to blow into the drain to clear it out.

Canon SD1100 -- used in very humid conditions (Cambodia at the end of rainy season) and the lcd gradually fogged over and now is not clearing. Have tried drying the camera but lcd is still foggy....

I would remove the battery immediatly as not to short circuit the very fragile circuits inside! Going from cold to warm, or warm to cold area's will cause a layer of humidity to built up on the tiny components inside, if the camera is not completely dried up (no condensation visible) every time this occurs then it will take even longer to completely dry up/out next time you use it in the same humid conditions. By now the microscopic conduits around/ in the lcd screen could already be creating an acid wich will coat the connections inside the camera, causing likely permanent damage to yuor camera. If you have to use a non weatherproof camera, then imediatly leave it in a dry, warm (not hot) area to completely dry out before next use, this could prolong/prevent any damage. The lcd in the camera has only very tiny openings, so when the screen fogs up it takes a long time longer to dry back out then it did to become foggy....Hope this helps some!

LCD Screen Blackout

This is normal. Look at page 53 of your user's manual. There, it shows in the illustration, the figure of a woman with a highlight on her forehead (#2). These flashing patches will occur anytime there are highlights in the image area. These indicate an over-saturation of light on the CCD. Usually, when you view the image on your computer, the image will look normal. You may have to manipulate the image with Photoshop when you make a print. Hope this helps.

LCD screen problem

You can get LCD hoods, perhaps you can find one that will strap around the movable lcd? They provide sufficient shade to see the screen clearly. They do look geeky though!

There is a brightness setting in one of the menus if I recall correctly, but it's of limited use.
