Question about Gateway (G-MAX2000) Computer Speakers

1 Answer

Reconnecting speakers My cousins took out the speakers to our computer and hooked it up to a laptop, which hooked up to the TV to watch a movie, and now the speakers aren't working in the original computer. I went into the control panel and under audio output it said there were no audio devices hooked up. So....how do I fix this? Thanks to whoever helps :D

Speakers won't show up in the device manager, go to the rear of your machine and plug it into the green connector, it should be either lite green or pink, try green first, just keep the volume down till u figure out which on it is

Restart the machine with the speakers in, did you change any settings when you were fiddling with it?, we can do a restore if you think you may have done something that you perhaps do not remember. If so go to start, programs, accessories, system tools, system restore. Go to the closest date to today that you are sure all was well and let it restore, all should be well when done, Peace, Gym

Twin Genius speakers model SP-K10 now carrying sound of intermitent machine gun fire on one speaker and deep bass humming on the second speaker. This is new - what can be the cause?

Could be interference from another electrical device or a loose connection. Or you forgot that you were watching Saving Private Ryan.

Turn off the movie, and then try moving them away from anything electrical; TV, monitor, PC mainly. Cordless phones can do it as well.

I have a VSB200. It worked until last night. No sound coming out of it now.

I have the same sound bar and in the middle of watching a movie, it just stopped working. I came to the conclusion that it was the optical hookup on the back of the speaker that had an issue. The problem with the entire situation is that I had only owned the sound bar for around two to three weeks and only watched around four movies on it until this problem. Either a fluke or bad quality. Check your optical connection if that is what you have it hooked up to.

I'm not sure if your computer is a desktop computer or a laptop.
If it is a laptop, you may click on the matrix button to enable virtual surround on the remote.

If it is a desktop computer, you need to plug more than only the green cable. You need the black cable for the rear speakers and the orange for the center and subwoofer.

You may need to set the speaker to 5.1 in windows 7 in the control panel.
You can also just activate the matrix mode for stereo source like music.

How to hook my altec lansing speakers to my TV? and my laptop @ the same time

You can do this through a receiver (like a stereo receiver). Hook the tv up to line 1 and the computer up to line 2, then hook the stereo receiver output to the input of your subwoofer. Then shift the receiver from line 1 to line 2 (as easy as pressing a button on the front of the receiver) to hear either one through your speakers.

Connecting Dell speaker system to TV or console

Hello,

If you have a coaxial out on your TV and a coaxial in on your Speaker system that is the way to go to experience digital surround sound. Radio Shack, etc. has coaxial cables in the appropriate size. If you go to Radio Shack, etc. bring along your speaker system's model number as well as your TV's model number.

Hope this gets you going.

Unwanted sound from subwoofer.

switch your subwoofer off from the socket for at least 30 minutes and check if the noise is still there,if its still there open it and play a movie then press it lower if the sound stops then you will have to put some toilet papers at the back of it ,thats what I did to mine.
