My xbox will not turn on and I am now in Europe and can not go to any stores to have the problem fixed. I am guessing I need to send it in for repairs? I have the right power converters so that is not the problem

My xbox 360 was running perfectly this morning while watching a movie, I went to work for about 4 hours and when I came back and tried to turn it on it didn't do anything. I tryed turning it on with a controller, reconnected everything, the power block light was on the right colour. It also won't eject. I can't remember how long the warranty was so I decided to post my problem here...can anyone help? Thanks

My Xbox will not turn on. I have more than 1 and I plugged another into the same plugs and they work. I looked on MS website and one thing they said to try is manually eject the drive to take a disk out. I haven't done this yet but will try. I think my power box on the inside of the is shot and will probably replace it with another one from another Xbox. I recommend finding one on fleabay that is broke and buy it for a low price and doing the same thing if you are handy. You may even be able to take one out of an old computer, but I would do some research to see if that is possible.

How do u fix my xbos it locks up after 1 minute of playing

This locking up issue or the freezing is caused internally by heat and this is why it happens:

The GPU which is the graphics chip and the CPU which is the main number cruncher need to connect to each other and all there is allowing this is a tiny piece of soldering.

As you play your games over the months the soldering heats up and then when you turn your Xbox 360 off the soldering cools down.

Repeat this a few hundred times and eventually it snaps off and that is when you get the freezing up issue.

To fix this you need to stop the heat and you can send it in and they will do this for you - about a 4 week wait and also $140 for the repair fee.

Or what you can do is fix it yourself using a good repair guide.

This is quite hard to pick one so I have put a list of the top guides and the pros and cons of each HERE.

If you find this helps please rate it so it can help others.

How to fix the "open tray" error on Xbox 360

When ever you have a problem with your Xbox 360 always do these steps first:
1. Turn off your Xbox 360
2. Unplug all of your cords
3. Plug your cords back in
4. Turn your Xbox 360 back on

1. Now with your Xbox 360 on open your tray.
2. Hold your tray open while you turn Xbox 360 off making sure it doesn't close.
3. Still making sure your tray doesn't close turn it back on.
4. Have fun!!!

If this does not work you will have to send it into microsoft to fix. If your warranty is up you will have to pay $150 to fix it. Otherwise it's free

This sounds like the Infamous Red Ring of Death also known as Rrod. This is basically where your circuitry has just burnt out and has died. You can either take it to a Game Shop to mend it or get a new 360. if you choose the new 360 R.I.P Someones 360

Xbox 360

This problem occurs when the Xbox 360 console experiences a general hardware failure.

You can submit a console-repair request online at Xbox.com. However, before you submit your request, first try the following steps to verify the problem:
  1. Turn the console off and on. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Turn off the console.
    2. Disconnect all the cables.
    3. Reconnect all the cables.
    4. Turn the console back on.
  2. Turn the console off and on without accessories. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Turn off the console.
    2. Disconnect any accessories that are connected. For example, disconnect all Xbox 360 controllers, all Xbox 360 Memory Units, and the Xbox 360 Hard Drive.
    3. When the accessories are disconnected, restart the console to determine whether the console or an accessory is experiencing the problem.

Error e 73

Do not ever use a heatgun on your system it will damage the mainboard and if it melts the solder under the GPU you will need to send it out to get the chips removed and reflowed which is probably more then getting a new one.

Xbos 360 core arcade

This one is cheaper because it comes without a hard drive. It is just the same as the ones with a hard drive but without a hard drive. Yes you can play all the games but it is recomended that you get a hard drive one. You can save games music and game upgrades on it.
