I opened the lid to add clothes and it will not turn back on. I have ruled out any issues with the electrical outlet or circuit breaker. It was working and I disrupted the cycle for a second to add clothes and when I shut the lid it no longer works. I think it is a fuse but I cannot find any fuse box on the unit. I removed the panel and cannot find any fuses. Can you help?

take your outlet pipe and place into a bucket so that it is low to the ground if water comes out then it could be that your pump is faulty when the water has all drained away the pressure switch will reset itself and the lid will now open if no water comes out un-clamp your outlet pipe from your pump if then water comes out then your pipe will be blocked m8

I had this same problem, it was the lid switch on the left side of the lid that was causing the problem. It seems to be designed to stop the washer if the load becomes too unbalanced. I ended up taking off the control panel and looking at the switch. The problem switch is a two part brass metal switch, the two parts are connected by a spring. It appears that the join at the spring started to work itself loose easier as I used the washer more. I ended up putting a twist tie around this join (through the square hole and around the part that descends vertically into the washer), and tightening it up well so that the two brass parts would stay connected and not release apart so easily. It seems to have worked well, I haven't had this problem re-appear at all.
The one thing that I am careful of now is the load balance of my washer. Since my 'repair' in effect bypassed the load imbalance mechanism of the washer, I am more careful of how much I put into the washer.
Other than this hiccup, I'm quite happy with this little washer and how well it has performed. Great value for the money!

if its less than 15 years old its a direct drive whirlpool, no belt, remove the cabinet, not the back panel. look up direct drive whirlpool washer cabinet removal on internet, and replace the coupler, most likely, if it drains.
