Question about Philips GoGear SA3245/37 Digital Media Player
I bought a philips sa3245 for my son for christmas. we converted and copied a video using the provided converter but the dvd, now in smv. format, does not play. what is wrong?
Three problems - the Media Converter will not correctly convert videos over 15 minutes long, it will not recognize the DVD's file structure, and it cannot play copyright-encrypted video files. This player is more for YouTube-style videos. Here is a workaround:
1) Use video editing software to break the DVD file into 15-minute chunks
2) Run the chunks through Riva FLV Encoder - convert it to AVI format, and make sure sound is enabled
3) Run the Riva-converted chunks through the Philips Media Converter
4) You can now watch your movie in 15-minute chunks - I hope you chose filenames that allow the files to be played in sequential order
