I would call Dremel direct at 1-800-437-3635 and order them. They also have a tech line, but I would think that they are in a bind when installing and cracking. Look at the bearings to make sure they are not tight or completely locked up. Let me know if I can help further

My Whirlpool Whirlpool microwave table does not turn

Usually indicates a bad turntable motor (accessable from the bottom of the microwave oven), but sometimes (in some cases) the turntable shaft coupler (which is made out of plastic), splits or cracks, so the motor turns, and the shaft slips inside the coupler.

How did the upgrade pump for Excel VR2500 seize during first use?

This happens when the pump is installed. When you slide the pump up the shaft and the key slides up the shaft to the curved groove in the engine shaft. When this happens it forces the key to push to far in to the pump hollow shaft and cracks and breaks it

Hi
The first thing I would check is the coupler. Remove the glass tray and pull the coupler up. Check it for any cracks. If the coupler is fine then the turntable motor has to be replaced. It can be easy replaced after the bottom panel removed - just two screws and the wire plug.

Does anyone know how to replace the Rack and pinion on a 2000 Dodge Intrepid. I replaced the powersteering pump and it is still doing to same whining and hard steering. I cant afford to take it to the...

Power Rack and Pinion Steering Gear REMOVAL & INSTALLATION 1997 Models
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Disarm the air bag system.
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:
  4. Transaxle gearshift cable from the shifter lever
  5. Loosen the gearshift cable-to-transaxle mount bolt
  6. Gearshift cable from the transaxle
  7. Throttle cable from the throttle body, if necessary
  8. Throttle cable bracket
  9. Both wiper arm assemblies from the wiper arm pivots
  10. Cowl closure panel and weather-stripping as an assembly from the cowl
  11. Wiper module wiring harness from the vehicle wiring harness
  12. Wiper module assembly from the cowl panel
  13. Air plenum from the throttle body, PCV make up air tube and the idle air control motor. Remove the plenum from the right side of the vehicle through the wiper module area.
  14. Power brake booster vacuum connector at the intake manifold
  15. Turn the front wheels to the full left position. Then, turn the wheels back in the other direction until the roll pin in the lower steering coupler is accessible. Turn the ignition key switch to the LOCK position to keep the steering column from rotating after the coupler is removed from the steering gear. If the steering column shaft rotates beyond the normal number of turns in either direction, the air bag clock spring will be damaged. Fig. 1: Matchmark the steering coupler to the intermediate shaft for proper alignment 7922bg46.gif
Fig. 2: Steering rack-to-subframe attaching bolt locations — replace mounts if worn 7922bg47.gif

  16. Using paint, mark the steering coupling and steering gear shaft for orientation. Using the correct size punch, remove the roll pin from the steering coupling.
  17. If equipped, remove the pedal travel sensor from the brake booster as follows:
    1. Pump the brake pedal approximately 20 times. This will bleed the vacuum stored in the booster.
    2. Remove the wiring harness connector from the sensor.
    3. Using a small flat-tipped tool, lift the retainer ring from the notch. Then, remove the retaining ring from the grommet.
    4. Remove the pedal travel sensor from the brake booster by carefully pulling it straight out of its mounting grommet. Do not twist the sensor.
  18. Remove or disconnect the following:
  19. Master cylinder from brake booster with the brake lines connected and position aside
  20. Power steering pressure hose and return hose from the power steering gear
  21. Bend back the tie rods-to-steering gear bolt retaining tabs and remove the bolts
  22. Lay the tie rods, bolts and plate as an assembly on the bell housing of the transaxle.
  23. If the rack and pinion steering gear unit being removed is a speed proportional steering gear, disconnect the vehicle wiring harness from the solenoid control module.
  24. Remove or disconnect the following:
  25. 4 bolts attaching the steering gear assembly to the crossmember. Slide the steering gear forward in the vehicle to disengage the steering coupler from the steering gear shaft. After the gear is disengaged, do not rotate the steering gear shaft
  26. Steering gear assembly from the vehicle through the area in the cowl from which the windshield wiper module was previously removed To install:
  27. If a replacement rack is being installed, grasp the shaft of the steering gear and rotate it until the steering gear center take off is in a full left turn position. Install the steering gear into the vehicle through the wiper module opening in the cowl.
  28. If the original gear is being installed, align the paint mark on the steering coupler with the mark on the steering gear shaft and install the steering gear shaft into the steering gear coupler.
  29. If a replacement rack is being installed, the steering gear shaft and steering coupler must be aligned. Rotate the steering gear shaft back from the full left turn position until the master spline on the steering gear shaft is aligned with the master spline on the steering coupler. At this point, install the steering gear into the coupler.
  30. Align the steering gear with the mounting holes in the crossmember and install the bolts. Be sure the brake line routing clip is installed under the left steering gear mounting bracket. Tighten the mounting bolts to 50 ft. lbs. (68 Nm).

I installed a sprocket and gear assembly kit to the garage door opener. It runs forward and then quickly runs backwards. Tried to adjust sensors and the motor does the same thing. Goes forward for a bit...

Make sure you put the black cup back on the end of the motor shaft and that it is pressed all the way on. Make sure the RPM sensor is plugged in. If neither of these are the issue, then you probably did not have the motor shaft pushed all the way back when you tightened the coupler after replacing the worm gear. Loosen that coupler up and from the front of the motor (opposite end in which the coupler is on) push the shaft back as far as it will go. Hold it there while you tighten the coupler back up and then try it.

Need to plastic coupler that holds turn table in place

If you need a replacement turntable coupler, you can find this part listed as item number 942560 at repairclinic.com. Just type in your model number.

To replace, all you need to do is carefully slide something under the existing coupler (if you can) and pry up. The coupler will pull off the motor shaft.

If you cannot access the coupler due to the way it was broken, simply remove the bottom panel UNDER the oven. With the panel removed, locate the small turntable motor and loosen the mounting screws to remove. The coupler should be easily accessible with the motor out of the unit. Make sure you reinstall the turntable motor and bottom panel BEFORE you try to install the new coupler. The coupler needs to be installed from inside the oven cavity by placing it in the opening in the oven floor and pushing straight down onto the motor shaft.

If you have questions, or require additional assistanc, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Nylon Coupler crscks when installing

I'll answer last question first. They might be cracking because they are in a bind and when turned on or inserted on the shaft there is too much pressure. Make sure the shafts are free of any debris from the original coupling, also check the bearings for wear or being so tight that they twist the coupling. Everything should move freely. And second I would recommend calling Dremel direct at 1-800-437-3635 for replacement parts. Hope this helps.

Smells like rubber burning

Hi and welcome to FixYa!
First thing to check is to make sure that you have pressed the couplings on the motor and transmission shafts all the way on to the point where the metal ring on the new coupler is totally flush with the shaft. If you do not do this, you will get a binding condition.
Another is that some people really pound on those couplers to get them on, and this can damage the bearings in the motor. First do as I outlined and make sure the new couplers are on all the way, and is the noise does not go away remove the coupler altogether and re-install the motor and listen for the noise. if you ruined your motor, you will know. FYI that motor is not servicable; it will have to be replaced. The way I install those couplers is to use a deep socket that closeley matches up with the metal ring on the new coupler (you may have noticed the old one had no ring) and tap it LIGHTLY to get it to seat on the motor shaft and tranny shaft.

Hope this helps you..!

Does not agitate, does it spin? If it doesnt you have a coupler failure. If it does spin then the agitator dogs have worn to the point of no return.

This is the link for a coupler;
http://www.repairclinic.com/SmartSearch/SSPartDetail.aspx?PartID=278912&PPStack=1
The coupler is accessed by pulling the machine out 2 feet and tilting it back to expose the bottom of the machine. Once done follow the pump( has two hoses attached) to the motor and after that is the gearcase. Between the motor and the gearcase is a coupler. There is a small gap between a black plate where the motor attaches and the gearcase.Reach from front to the plate and feel behind it up in the gap. This is where the coupler is and if you feel soft spots or if you try to rotate it and it separates get a flashlight and a friend to spot hold the machine while you crawl under to look at it. You need to look at the white flanges for cracks and push on the flanges while checking. If so this machine is designed to be an easy fix. The pump removes by popping the clips top and bottom as well the motor with the addition of 2 1/4 inch hex screws and a wire harness plug( may have one to three additional wires for a capacitor and a switch, two red and a white wire). Once the motor is off you can see better as to what the damage is... If the coupler falls apart upon removing the motor finish removing it from both sides. When replacing I use a 9 inch extension and a deep well socket about 1/2 in size to seat the flanges flush to the motor and gear case shafts using a small hammer not hitting to hard.
This is the link for the agitator dogs;
http://www.repairclinic.com/SmartSearch/SSPartDetail.aspx?PartID=3109&PPStack=1

For the agitator a sure test is to reach in and rotate the agitator back and forth, it should only go one direction, if it is free then this is the problem.
The dogs are below the softener cup on the agitator, when removed you will see a seal cap that has to be removed. After this you will see a round insert with a 7/16 or 1/2 inch bolt attaching it to the gearcase spindle. once out the agitator assembly will pull out separating into a lower and top half. The top if turned upside down will dump the contents of the agitator dog assembly. These are simple to replace and if there is no retainer, a little vaseline will stick them long enough to re assemble, just watch how they remove and note any fins and notchs use between the upper and lower halfs to align them.
