Changing the DPI on my digital camera

I am a real estate appraiser and have been told that my emailed appraisals have too many megabytes due to wrong setting on my camera dpi. Can you please give me a quick way that I can change the dpi setting to the lowest possible one?? Thank you.

Re: Changing the DPI on my digital camera

Dpi = quality. On my C-310, the quality settings are accessible by pressing the Menu/OK button, then scrolling left to an icon which can only be described as a fallen over christmas tree (other interpretations welcomed). Once there, select a lower quality and press OK. You'll probably see each quality level described both in terms of initials (SHQ presumably meaning "Super High Quality" and a resolution like "2048x1536". The lower the numbers you select, the fewer dpi and megabytes you will generate. A.

I am an appraiser and when I take pictures of houses, then download to my computer, they are all out of order! How and why does this happen, and how do I fix it?

Check the number sequence of your small camera pictures. If you change the numbers to ascending order that should do the trick.

How can i change 40 dpi to 300 dpi for a magazine

If you didn't shoot them at 300 dpi you cannot convert them to such in your camera. You can upscale them in a software program like Photoshop or the free GIMP program but the quality will suffer. My suggestion would be if possible, to re-shoot the images after changing your camera settings to 300dpi or better.

Increase the dpi

Dots per inch is an output specification, meaningful only when printing or displaying a photograph. You can print the same photograph in different sizes by changing the DPI setting, but it's still the same photograph as far as the camera is concerned. The camera offers no way to change this setting. You control it in the printing program when you print it.

How do I increase the resolution from 72 dpi to 300 dpi on this camera?

You can use a photo editing software on your computer to change the dpi,

dpi has todo with printing and scaning dpi has no real change in the quality of your camera pictures

300 dpi

Shooting pictures in Fine quality will give you atleast 300 DPI resolution. Check your camera setup menu to see what quality you're shooting in, and adjust as necessary.
If you need to print 300dpi, this is done in whatever program you're using to output. In Photoshop, this is done by going to image>image size and changing Resolution to 300 (or whatever other resolution you want)

Moire patterns

The moire pattern is most likely due to poor lens resolution and a resolution that conflicts with the close pattern of the house design. By lowering the resolution. you are making the receptors "bigger" so they dont pick up the smallest details. if you get a larger MP camera, you can use the best resolution and the pattern will look natural. It is as if you are right in the "sweet spot" for the moire pattern to manifest itself. Another way to combat this is to slightly tilt the camera as the pixels are lined up like bricks in a wall. and the horizontal patterns will not be overlayed onto the horizontal biasing of the CCD.

Many cameras will take pictures at only 72 dpi. Changing the resolution causes the camera to change the size of the picture in terms of pixel dimension (ie 800x600 vs 640x480) but always at 72 dots per inch. A photo editing program like Photoshop can change the resolution to whatever you need.

320 x 240 dpi Photo Transfer Problem

Certain computer hardware and software configurations conflict with PhotoMAX or PhotoImpression software. As a result, you may not be able to transfer 320 x 240 dpi photos from your Polaroid Fun! Flash 640 digital damera. This problem does not occur if you use the camera's default resolution of 640 x 480 dpi.
