My phone recently started acting funny. It will not turn on unless it is on the charger, and when i put it on the charger it begins to charge and then it turns off and the "samsung" comes up and begins charging again! The process keeps repeating. So when i power it on when i put it on the charger it loads up fine. If i let the phone sit without pressing any buttons for more than 30 seconds it turns itself off and starts repeating the charging for about 1 minute, then turns off and starts charging again. i havent dropped or smashed it or got it wet or anything! Please help!!

Did you drop the phone in water recently? Did you get it wet in the rain? Apart from the likely possibility that the phone is actually damaged/battery damaged, this happens if the power button gets damaged. When you put the phone to charge, in the middle of the night the power button "acted" as if it was pressed and held and the phone turned off. Now when you press the power button, nothing happens because the power button is damaged.
Take it to a repair shop and check the power button for damage. It is replaceable and should not cost a lot.
Does your phone have a removable battery? If yes then you might be in luck. If not, then just take the phone to repair shop and get the power button checked and repaired.
If battery is removable I know that it is possible to turn on the phone this way: 1) Plug in the charger to the phone 2) Remove the battery and insert it immediately. Do this multiple times and the phone should turn on without having to press the power button. Hope that works.
It's happened to me a few times recently. Simply taking out the battery, then putting it back in usually does the trick. Try plugging in the charger with the battery in. If that doesn't work, take battery out, plug in charger, then put battery back in. Hope this helps.
I have the exact same problem. Has it been in contact with water recently? It may be corroded. Check your charger slot for corrosion. That may be the problem. If you see signs of corrosion, your phone is shot. If you don't, take it in to your service provider to have it checked. hope this helps :)
Did you replace battery recently? Sounds like it has bad or wrong battery. If not, it is just dead.
To fix: Power up phone on charger While it is ON, pull the battery Leave out for 1/2 to 3hr - phone still plugged in Replace Battery, phone will power cycle and start charging Leave plugged into charger 10-14hrs Should be good now
