Question about Sony KP-53HS30 53" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

Sony KP53HS30 Picture Problem

My TV suddenly developed this "tripple vision" problem. The picture now has three colors seperated. All three pictures are also "*********" shaped.

Do I have bad IC's on the circuit boards?

Thank you!

I have a similar problem, but mine shows the color seperation on the sides of the screen and not in the middle. It has this problem when first turned on and then it corrects itself after being on for approximately 2 hours. what would be the problem? is it an expensive fix? Do I need a professional to do the repairs? Any help is much appreciated...thanks.

No calibration required for convergence because problem is hardware as few parts are damaged. Check surrounding parts specially resistors, pico fuse etc.

Sitting here watch tv and suddenly the picture went warped and discolored. Picture looks like the colors are seperated. blue green and red.

Your TV has convergence chips that need to be replaced by a tech. These keep tour red green and blue lights in sync with one another in order to give you a sharp color picture. When they fail your colors seperate.

Red color outline and double vision

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired.

Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung, JVC, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Akai, Pioneer, Hitachi, Zenith, and others. You can get a convergenece repair kit wiith instructions from the links below.

Sony rear projestion TV has blurry picture.

sounds as if your convergence needs to be set. either through the menu on the tv or remote you need to get to the convergence set screen and you need to line up the crosshairs. this usually happens when the tv is moved or bumped.

SONY KP53HS30 rear projection TV screen suddenly turned blue....

The blinking 5 times is an error code meaning that the white balance has a failure. And because you are experiencing a blueish screen then your problem lies in the circuit of the blue picture tube or possibly the blue tube itself is starting to go bad.
