Re: purchased an Acer Monitor with a bad pixel what do i...
There is nothing you can do short of replacing the screen itself. It's not even covered under the manufacturer's warranty unless there are like 7 dead pixels or something like that because it is a common problem with LCD's. Please remember to rate this as fixya since I did answer your question, even if it wasn't what you wanted to hear. Thanks.

With the pixels acting up and the monitor having the same problem on any computer that its connected to. The screen itself is bad and since there are no replacement screens for that monitor, you would have to buy a new monitor or get it replaced if its under warranty.
We are using the same monitor type.. humm it's good that i already had experience with it. No drivers needed to install this monitor, check the connection to the PC and to the monitor, make sure they are inserted properly. Sometimes when you put on the PC first and then power on the Monitor causes this problem. The best recommend resolution is 1440X990, good luck..
Open up your monitor and open your power supply. Check for any bad capacitors. And replace them with the same or bigger number. If everything inside the power supply looks good then its probably the back light going bad.. Its probably best to buy a new one in that case.,.
Pixel Ratio is just a parameter Measured to Produce Good Quality Display with Fine details so Do not Mix up with Resolution and Pixel ratio.
Use the Resolution that best sutes the Application you use(which may change with time to time based on applications you use)
Keep a standard Resolution 1024 x768,or which ever suits your Vision.
NViiDiA is a Grafix card and Monitor features are 2 differnt thigs so.
Dont be concerned about the Parameters and get mixed up.
just find the best possible Resolution and enjoy your Monitor with best Quality, :)
By initiating the on screen menu, you navigate to the brihghtness etc. This can also be related to contrast. Get a keyboard with zoom keys that will make it east to enlarge text.Mine is a logitech wireless S510 and its a great bargain and comes with mouse.the best solution is, however to buy a 42 inch or larger display and use that as you monitor. I can never go back!
