If it is built in you should see a plug in the back/side that looks like a telephone jack except bigger. If you have this then it's the wired/ ethernet type & you would plug a ethernet cable there going to the router. For wireless there should be a button or option on the laptop that says wireless options. Hope this helps.

If it is wireless then the possibility could be that the wireless format on the computer is not compatible with the format on the router. Some of the newer formats are not backwards compatible. Check to see what formats your router is running & check the computer to see if it transmits for that format. Other option would be if it is ethernet wired then run a cat5 or cat6 ethernet cable between the router and computer. Another suggestion. Has these computers been networked? If not I would run the Windows network setup wizard on both computers to see if that fixes the problem. Hope this helps.

Wifi card Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6205 not fitting in designated PCI slot on new motherboard.

Make sure that the opening in the case is properly aligned with the PC slot of the notebook. If it is not - disassemble and correct - assuming a PC (the old "PCMCIA") card is what you're trying to insert.

If you're talking about a connector on the mainboard that supports a built in Wifi PCB connector cable or an expansion slot on a desktop PC, please indicate exactly what you have.

I have a Toshiba L25 laptop and a D-Lin Air DWL-650 wireless card. I'm not getting the best connection with the wireless card while my other computer has a much stronger signal. I'd like a recommendation...

im assuming its a cardbus adapter right? well that model is a wireless b signal, which isnt very strong, so any wireless g model should have a much stronger signal. it doesnt matter which one it is, as long as its wireless g, which most new cards are. hope this helps, goodluck

Reformatting an Acer Travelmate 2310

Enter the first recovery cd, and choose the option to format the hard drive and install a fresh copy of windows. Then enter the second recovery cd when it asks. It should have an option of formatting the drive when you put in the recovery cds. There is not that much that can go wrong, since you want to delete everything anyway. Hope that helps :).

Ethernet not working! Help!

im assuming its not dissabled, if not then go to control panel, network connections and right click on your network card and go to properties then driver and see if there is a code 9 meaning it's faulty or the device is working. if it is faulty then it's part of the motherboard anyway and you will have to buy a pcmcia network card and connect through that instead
