Question about Video Cameras

Open Question

I have a Canon ZR50MC Digital Camcorder. The "Battery Release Button" has broken off. I have the parts coming to fix it, but I don't know how to take the shell apart to replace the button... Does anyone have instructions on how to take the camera shell apart (preferrably so that I can put it back together again...)

SOURCE: push the reset button

let the camera sit alone for About 20 min,so that the camcorder automatically turned off. I turned it off, then back on and did not receive the reset button prompt.
if that doesn't work unplug the battery and all power and plug back in.

SOURCE: Elura 60 Zoom Problem

Guys, so weird but on another site it offered this suggestion: banged the base of your camera against something hard and it will become unstuck. So bang the base of your camera against something hard and it will work again, at least it works like it did but not sure for how long. Good luck. I can't believe that worked. Give it a try. I didnt hit it too hard either.

SOURCE: jammed tape in Sony camcorder

There is no manual eject.
The only way is to disassemble the camera outer shell, then remove the drive mechanism and using a 4.5 V power supply power the eject mechanism.
It takes 30 min of work when you know how to do it. If you find the service manual (free somewhere in internet) it will tell you how to open the camera.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Jazz DV151 camcorder didn't come with an owner's manual

You're totally right!

The button with the red circle and a small line through it is the on/off button. The button underneath it with the garbage can is the delete button, the red button in the middle is the record button, and the four buttons around it are the direction keys, and the button with the triangle/square is the play/stop button, so when you're reviewing clips, you can stop and start them.

I hope that helps!

The problem that you are experiencing with your Canon GL2 camcorder is a broken battery release. The repair cost for this repair is $186.00 parts and labor. This also includes cleaning and servicing.

We also offer a 6 month guarantee on the entire camcorder, not just what it was sent in for. The estimate and the return shipping are free even if you do not have the camcorder repaired. Please feel free to call, email or post any questions you have and I would be happy to respond.

ZR50 Rec/Pause button not working

I encountered the same problem with the Canon REC/Pause switch was intermittent. To solve the problem I used a high pressure air hose and blasted the switch with air. It cleaned the contacts of the switch without having to take it apart.
