Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook

Notebook connection to tv

Wanted to connect my hp dv6000z notebook to my hp plasma. want to be able to watch dvd's playing on my notebook on the plasma. want to be able to watch steamed video from my notebook on the plasma. How do I connect both audio and video without an hdmi on the notebook? What are my options.

I checked out picks of your computer. doesn't seem to have any video outputs built in. is this correct? if so. you can either use an external videocard or change the internal one.
just make sure the card supports at least on of the connection types your tv has.

S-Video - This is probably the most common method out there currently because an S-Video cable is cheap as heck and just about every TV under the sun has a S-Video port. You’ll have to make sure you laptop is equipped with this port. Remember, there are two types of S-Video cables: 4-pin and 7-pin. Most laptops and PC’s are equipped with a 7-pin port, so if your TV only has a 4-pin S-Video port, then this method will not work.

it sounds like you need a mpeg codec to play dvd the software you are using doesnot need that to play dvds but windows does you could try a software like power dvd 6.0 this have a mpeg driver included windows can use.then media player can also play dvd using the codec from power dvd

best option to use s-video lead ...use fn + f-key that has little square printed on it ...hp mostly fn+f4

is this occurring when tv is on/off? how old is plasma tv? they have a screen life of approx 3500-5000 hours. be better to contact manufacterer

then you need to connect audio, either from an onboard audio port or your audio-out port which you will need an adapter to plug into the audio out then convert to RGA compatable connector which will plug into your tv audio in port

Can you burn a CD to a DVD?


Yes it is possible you just need to use a software that you can use to connvert that fiel and copy it to a DVD.

Laptop computer connection to tv


its not a problem with your hardware its settings problem either in your tv or laptop in the NTSC/ PAL settigns. correct those it should work properly. check the tv first..as its possible for settigns to be different, and this problem is not common for all vcd and dvd and blu-ray disks its the way they are burned in which format...
