Can the presser foot be raised slightly on pfaff tiptronic 2030 to facilitate free motion quilting? There is not enough clearance with feed dogs down to freely move material to quilt. Thank you.

You need a special foot for free motion quilting--it is slightly shorter in height than a regular presser foot, which essentially provides space between the presser foot and the needle plate to manually move the fabric. Sometimes machines came with a standard darning foot accessory. Your Pfaff dealer probably has at least one style in stock. But there are other specialty feet you can probably use, ie Big Foot, clear free motion foot, C-shaped, oval, etc. You can also purchase a shank adapter (verify it is the correct shank for your machine) and use it with a kit of snap-on presser feet so you can have a variety of presser feet for different functions.

How do I PUT together the presser foot. the part that snaps into foot

Here's a manual you can download. It should have instructions for attaching your presser foot:

Instruction Manual White 955

If you are using snap-on feet, be sure that you have the low-shank snap-on adapter for your machine (looks something like these) that actually clamps onto the presser foot:

Kenmore 16231 how to change foot

Looks like it's a snap on foot system. First check to see if there is a button or a release on the back of the foot holder. If so press the button and it will release the foot. If not you get to grasp the toe of the foot when it's in the "up position" and press down. The foot should then snap off the holder.

To put a different foot on, align the little bar on the foot with the carrier's grasper... and lower the presser foot bar so it fits in. Some are more stubborn and require a little pressure to get it to snap on.

Good luck. .

How to set 2140 for free motion sewing

Which model are you using? Creative 4.5?, On the newer machines it drops automatically once the embroidery attachment is hooked up. On older Creatives v2.x there is a slide lever in front of the presser foot on the front.

Attaching the pressure foot to machine = HELP

This takes a while to download so be patient. It's 72 pages long
Your manual.

Your feet are snap on feet. If you look carefully at them there is a little metal bar across the top. Your foot "carrier" has a little hook-like thing that snaps over that bar. to remove the foot that's on there now, lift your presser foot, grasp the toe of the foot and pull up. This should unsnap it from the carrier. Once it's removed, sit your new foot on the feed dogs below the hook-like thing and lower the presser foot bar... the foot should just snap into place easily. Some of the older ones you had to press down on the thumb screw a little to get it to snap.

How to attach zipper foot on singer inspiration

Most modern machines have snap off and snap on feet. Grasp the foot that is on there and push down. Then while lowering the foot, align the little bar on the zipper foot and watch it snap in. Easy.
