Question about Acer Notebook
I have a acer aspire 3683wxmi and i want to restore it back to the time i removed it from the box. i have been told that this is possible, by pressing alt f10 on start up but i have had no luck. the reason for this is acer empower was deleted and i cant use all my funtions any more. i tried downloading from the net the empower but its for xp and im running vista. please help.
Perform a system recovery:
Does not come with recovery cd's - there is a program that allows you to burn the disks or
1. If in Windows - Start - Programs - Acer empowering technology - Acer E-recovery management -
click on Restore at bottom then "Restore to factory default settings"
2. Or click on Burn disks instead of restore
3. if unable to ge into Windows then Alt/F10 during boot right after Acer splash screen on startup

Pressing F10 on start up, is not for acer laptops, you need to have done a back up when you first got it running and use e-recovery to recover from your 'D' drive. see this explanation http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_3680.html

Restart the Acer Aspire One's operating system. Wait for the Acer logo to appear on the LCD screen.
Press the "Alt" and "F10" keys at the same time to bring up the recovery menu. Press "Enter."
Click "Next." Follow the prompts that appear on the screen to restore the operating system back to factory settings.
Use the drop-down boxes to select the time zone and language information for your Acer Aspire One. Restart the netbook when you are prompted to finish restoring the computer.
