This configuration is more than perfect for WOW and most of the current games on the market even CRYSIS will run on it smoothly somewhere around medium graphics, but if you'd like not to upgrade in the near future than I suggest you to spend some extra money and buy a PC with a better CPU and Graphics card.
Or if you know what to do just order the parts and put your PC together, it'll be cheaper or better for the same amount of money.
Otherwise for this much of money this PC is just what you can expect as a pre built system.

For example on http:\zipzoomfly.com

A little bit more expensive and you'll have to put the parts together yourself, but you'll get a PC from very good quality parts and it's performance in games should be much more and you'll get 2 free games with the CPU as well.
The whole assembling and windows installation would take around 3 hours and you just need to follow the manual, mostly the mainboard's will show you everything.

I hope this was informative for you.

Kindly regards

Imre

It's okay and it should run your games okay. I am concerned because of all the issues with Vista though. I can get you one with better specs with XP for $599 through my company though. Please take a moment to rate as fixya. Thanks.

Where do you plug in the adaptor on the e machine for wifi

Depends on what kind of Wireless Adapter you are using

There's the Wireless Adapter Card

Comes in three styles of connection,

1) PCI Wireless Adapter Card,

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4389486&CatId=2701

2) And PCI-Express x1 Wireless Adapter Card,

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1068811&CatId=2688

PCI-Express x4 style may be out there too.
(I've never bothered to look. I use the USB style)

A Wireless Adapter Card based on the PCI technology, goes in a PCI slot. Generally White in color, but NOT always,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_local_bus

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PCI_Slots_Digon3.JPG

A Wireless Adapter Card based on the PCI Express technology, is used in a PCI-Express x1 slot,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PCI_Express

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PCIExpress.jpg

Top example is a PCI-Express x4 slot.
Moving down, next is a PCI-E x16 slot
Next, PCI-E x1 slot
Next is a PCI-E x16 slot,
and the last one at the bottom is a PCI slot.

Notice they are all Yellow.
Color of connector does NOT matter.

What the expansion slot is, does........

Also there is a USB Wireless Adapter,

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3970955&CatId=2704

This type of Wireless Adapter, plugs into any available USB port on the computer.

Front or back of an eMachines desktop computer, in any available USB port.

Any available open USB port, on an eMachines laptop.

(Or any computer manufacturer)

What is the model number of the eMachines Desktop PC?
Examples, T1090, T2460, W4685, D2246, etc.

I should be able to tell you what motherboard is used inside, and may have access to a link, to the Motherboard Manual.

I need to find a wireless internet card for an Acer AM5100-U5301A Desktop Computer

mtnmartha,

May I suggest a Wireless USB Adapter?

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5265581&CatId=2688

Just an example. Not advertising for manufacturer, nor website.

This is what I use on my lappy. Cost me around $70 at 'wally world'.
Note the price of it online.
Also came out before the suggestion I posted above.
(In my 'defense', lol!)

Moore's Law, to paraphrase, states computing power doubles every 18 months. It actually has dropped to every 11 months.
Silicon will be obsolete in about 10-20 years. Time for new technology.

How do you use wifi on an e-machines etower 500is?

I suggest use a Wireless USB Adapter, and make sure you have a wireless router.
(Also if the internet provider did not give you a separate Modem; make sure the wireless router you have has a Modem built-in)

Can i run new ati radeon 512mb video memory with 5.0 shader card on acer ACER AST690-U-P925A

1) How much Ram Memory do you have installed? If I have the spec's right, your motherboard's maximum amount of Ram Memory is 2GB.
(PC2-5300 would be best, but the amount is what matters, not the 'speed')

2) What is the Maximum Wattage for your Power Supply?
Takes power for each hardware component in the computer.
Motherboard, Processor, Ram Memory, Harddrive, Optical Drive/s, Graphics Card, etc.

When purchasing a graphics card, this is one of the minimum system requirements you need to know.

Spec's I looked up indicate a 300 Watt power supply.
This is the problem. That, and power supply's Acer uses are low quality.

If you had at least a 400 Watt power supply, you could use this,

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=41125&Sku=E145-0550

Slap that game around, and make it bark.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3276573&CatId=1483

You could also run this if you had the above Power Supply,

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2048679&Sku=M452-7770

[Note*
No. It does not matter if you are using DDR2 Sdram ram memory, and the graphics card has GDDR5 graphics memory.
A graphics card runs independent of the system resources.

Is there a soundcard for the t3604 with a output mixer on it

The eMachines T3604 desktop computer uses an Intel 945GCL motherboard,

http://www.ascendtech.us/intel-d945gcl-1066fsb-ddr2-pcie-x16-sata_i_mb4intd945gcl.aspx

(No, not advertising. Just a good photo of the motherboard, if you slightly scroll down)

Look at the chart below the photo of the mobo. (MOtherBOard)
Expansion Capabilities:

A) Two PCI slots (Two PCI Conventional bus connectors. Long white slots)

B) One PCI Express x1 bus add-in card connector.

(PCI Express x1 slot. The longer PCI-Express x16 slot is on top.
Then the two long white PCI slots. Then the shorter black PCI-Express x1 slot)

You can use a Sound Card in an available white PCI slot, or if the black PCI-Express x1 slot is open.

Yes, I know, I'm getting to it, lol!

The Onboard Audio -> Intel High Definition Audio, doesn't have an output mixer feature.

My onboard audio - Realtek, (And on an Intel mobo), does.

[ Intel 915G (Southlake) motherboard.
Has a Realtek audio chip, ALC860. I use the Realtek Audio Manager. Has Sound Effects, and an equalizer.
What happened from the Intel 915G to the Intel 945GCL INTEL?
Sheesh! ]

Suggest this if you have an open, available PCI slot,

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4459743&CatId=2771

This, if you only have the PCI Express x1 slot open,

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=420799&CatId=2771

I don't recommend a USB sound card, but you may,

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5344879&CatId=2771

(Usually only 16-bit.
Plugs into a USB port where the contacts are not gold plated, as on a PCI sound card, or PCI-Express x1 sound card.
I'm old school, and probably need to evolve ; )

What Wireless card to buy

A version that is Wireless N.

You can install a Wireless N adapter card in any available (Open)
white PCI slot, or use a Wireless N adapter that plugs into any available USB port.

1) Dell Support > Studio XPS 8100 Desktop PC > Service Manual,

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/studio8100/en/sm/index.htm

I would like you to click on - Technical Overview

Now on System Board Components

The number 23 points to the white PCI slot.
The numbers 24 and 26 point to a PCI-Express x1 slot.

You can buy a Wireless N adapter card to fit either a PCI slot, or a PCI-Express x1 slot.

{NOTE* Number 27 points to a PCI-Express x16 slot.
This = NO.
This expansion slot is used for a graphics card, ONLY }

Examples of a Wireless N adapter card for a PCI slot, and a PCI-Express x1 slot,

A) PCI: http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4389486&CatId=2701

B) PCI-Express x1:
http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=788312&CatId=2702

C) USB:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=5079829&CatId=2688

Why use anything but a USB Wireless N adapter?
I don't know. They allow me to toot the whistle, but not drive the train.

Motherboard chipset getting hot and machine rebooting how can i solve this problem

The Northbridge chip of the motherboard chipset does get hot. So does the Processor, and the graphics chipset.

Air is used to cool the hardware components inside that 'pizza-box' desktop computer.
The case is a lousy design.
Airflow is minimal.

I would install a small fan on the Northbridge chip, and a fan on the Processor. (IF the computer is just using a computer case fan, to cool the Processor)

OR,
I would strip the guts out of that computer case, and install them into a mid-tower computer case.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4540656&CatId=1509

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=719396&CatId=1842

{Note* If the Power Supply is not an ATX unit (Approximately 6 inches Wide, 5-1/2 inches Long, and 3-1/2 inches Tall), you will need to buy one.
Example of an economical decent ATX power supply,

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4465483&CatId=1079

1) Check to make sure the computer case fan, or Processor fan is operating, (Computer running, computer case open, keep your hands out)
Check to make sure the fan isn't running intermittently. Runs, slows down or stops, then runs again.

2) Check to make sure the Thermal Paste in-between the Processor, and Heatsink, is in good shape.
With the low cost of fresh, new thermal paste, it is just cheap insurance to replace it anyway.

(Don't forget to THOROUGHLY clean the top of the Processor, and bottom of the Heatsink.
PROPERLY apply new, fresh thermal paste.
Observe Anti-Static Precautions )

3) Ensure that the inside of the computer is clean. Use a can, or two of compressed air for computers, and clean it out.
(Computer unplugged from power. Anti-Static Precautions observed)

Barring none of this cures the problem, the Northbridge chip is failing. This requires motherboard replacement.

What is the best graphics card for my SR1502HM compaq computer.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page, and observe the motherboard illustration, and photo,

The best graphics card expansion slot on your motherboard is an AGP slot.
(The motherboard also has 3 PCI expansion slots)

It is an AGP 8X expansion slot.
[Scroll back up in the chart to the heading > Graphics connector (AGP) - 1 AGP 8X ]

These are a few examples of AGP 8X graphics cards that will work.

I'm trying to find a dvd drive for my MPC

May I suggest an alternative?
Buy an external enclosure, and install the DVD R/W drive of your choice. The external enclosure just plugs into any available USB port, on your computer.

This is an example of an external enclosure for a IDE optical drive, (IDE is also known as PATA. This is to help differentiate it from SATA.
Parallel ATA. Serial ATA),

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3311744&CatId=2784

This is an example of an external enclosure for a SATA optical drive,

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4777668&CatId=2784

An example of an IDE optical drive unit, that I have used for 3 years with no problem, and have installed the same unit in a clients computer.
4 years, and all is well.

Actually a slightly older model version, but this one is comparable.
