Question about Panasonic PT-53WX42 53" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Screen issue There is a small red dot on the screen approx 3/4 inch in size. Was told could be $150 to come a look, that the prob could only be dust on the projector element. This sounds like something fairly simple to fix...pretty good at dusting...clean freak. Any suggestions?

What is dpi

DPI is "Dots per Inch"
Setting the DPI size to a smaller number or percentage will decrease all items size on the display, while setting the DPI size to a larger number or percentage will increase all items size on the display.

Typically, the higher the dots per inch (DPI), the better the fonts will look. If you set the DPI higher than 96, and you are running a Windows Aero theme, the text and other items on the screen might appear blurry in some programs that are not designed for high-DPI display in this version of Windows. You can avoid this issue by using legacy DPI scaling (Windows XP style DPI scaling) for these programs.

What is the Resolution

Refers to the sharpness and clarity of an image. The term is most often used to describe monitors, printers, and bit-mapped graphic images. In the case of dot-matrix and laser printers, the resolution indicates the number of dots per inch. For example, a 300-dpi (dots per inch) printer is one that is capable of printing 300 distinct dots in a line 1 inch long. This means it can print 90,000 dots per square inch.
For graphics monitors, the screen resolution signifies the number of dots (pixels) on the entire screen. For example, a 640-by-480 pixel screen is capable of displaying 640 distinct dots on each of 480 lines, or about 300,000 pixels. This translates into different dpi measurements depending on the size of the screen. For example, a 15-inch VGA monitor (640x480) displays about 50 dots per inch.
Printers, monitors, scanners, and other I/O devices are often classified as high resolution, medium resolution, or low resolution. The actual resolution ranges for each of these grades is constantly shifting as the technology improves.

Solution :

If you not get the proper video image in your screen that mean you have remove the driver of video, for installation the driver, put the Driver -CD in rom, and start the setup is simple set you get the driver.after installing the driver restart your PC
If you change any display setting then also you get the occur.for set the resolution go to the control panel and select the Display and go to setting tab set the ' Screen resolution" as before.

If you still not get the display then open you PC and remove the RAM and put again, and try again.

Sony wega 42 has red dot on screen.

Is the dot in just one location..if so does it ever change color at all. My first guess is something has gotten into the color display, like a small dust spec. . Or there is an issue with the front panel. If the unit is less than five years old they will look at it on site under warranty.

Green dot in middile of my screen

The green dot in the center sounds like a burn mark on one or more of the picture tubes inside the set, and the curved lines are telling me that you have a problem in the convergence circuits. The blue haze around everything white tells me you either have a lot of dust build up on the lens over the CRTs, or your picture tube(s) are very weak. If this set is over about 12 years old, I would replace it. I doubt if you will be able to get the green dot out of the picture without changing the tubes which would be VERY expensive.
