The CD/DVD Drive will play and load CDs but will not burn/write

The external, portable I/O magic device functions when playing an audio CD or loading a CD into iTunes. However, the device does not write CDs. We have tried three different brands of rewritable CDs.

The device was new in the package, ordered directly from Dell.com and only opened yesterday morning. The software provided to access the burn capabilities for the device is nero8 Essentials.

I have tried adding the hardware manually, updating the driver and reinstalling the software with no success.

I would appreciate any and all assistance before returning your product to purchase another brand. Thank you.
