I have my own wireless internet and it shows up under wireless networks on my ASUS but it wont let me connect. My wireless internet needs a password and it wont even let me get to the pass word. It just has a picture of a padlock. Since I have a strong signal, and I know the laptop has a wireless card in it, does anyone know what the next step would be??

If ya'll bought the Linux version don't even get upset about it, send it back ASAP. There is no fix. I have been researching the wireless bug on ASUS Linux Xandros for months...it's not the computer its the software and there is no fix at this time.

Cant set up cannon mg3170 wirelessly

Hi Rachel,

I know this isn't exactly help, but I thought I should say something.

I had a similar canon printer which connected to my wireless network and then after a few days decided that it had had enough of wireless printing. I did everything including a reinstall. I then took it back and got a new one. This strangely did exactly the same thing, so I took it back and got a refund and am now happily wirelesly printing on an Epson printer.

Sorry this isn't a solution,

Darren

Cant connect my Asus eec pc 1001px net book to a wireless network. Window says were connected but wont connect

In this case, "connected" means that it can "talk" to the wireless router.

But, it does not mean that you have "authenticated" to the router, by entering an SSID and a password.

Just bought this of ebay and cant connect to

Hello

The first thing that I would advise you to do is,

Uninstall the WiFi Adapter totally from the System first,

Then go to "scan for hardware changes",

This will bring up a prompt to install the new hardware found (Which is your Wifi Adapter).

After this, Press your Wifi button on the system and ensure that it is On, then Scan for wireless networks.

It should connect like that.

(In case you dont know how to uninstall the Adapter, Right-Click on my computer Icon, Properties, Device Manager, then select the Adapter under network adapters, and right click on it, then select uninstall.)

Hope this helps.

Goodluck

ASUS EEE PC w/ Windows XP will not Connect Wirelessly

You need to know if your home network requires a password or paraphrase to allow you to connect. Also, you might have to check your settings on your router, they have to match the settings of your laptop wireless adaptor. You can try these solutions and if no luck post with more information

Cannot connect to web on EEC PC 701

Hello Lil' ol Lady, (LOL)

Are you able to check your network connection? Go to your control panel, click on Internet Options, click the Connections tab, then the LAN settings. Make sure the Automatically detect settings is selected and nothing else. close all windows and retry your Internet. Good Luck.

HI Asus Eee

you may have another wireless connection other than your own set as automatic, or more than one connection in your settings of the same name, so right click on your network icon in your task bar or in network connections in device manager and select view all wireless connections, click on it and when all the connections show, highlght, delete all of them, then close the window.

Your notebook should now indicate that it found new wireless connections, click on the popup and select your connection name and click connect, at this point you will be asked to enter the passkey if you have security enabled.
