How to reduce blur on close-up LEGO figure photographs?

Lenses have a limited 'closeness' at which they will focus. That is, unless it is a macro lens, you cannot focus closer than a yard or so (it is different for each lens). look on the barrel for markings or easier yet, move your camera back until the subject is in focus.
If you have to be back 3 feet - take the shots and then crop to make them appear larger.

Fuji film finepixF480 showing focus error

Possible that the lens mechanism is jammed , sometimes the flexible connector of the lens focus/zoom can be faulty. You try to check for some tips from the link below; http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Images are blurred

Blurred images can have different reasons. Greasy lens, camera shake or focus error.
You can clean a greasy lens with a lens-cleaner solution and lens-paper.
Camera shake will (most likely) only occur on images taken without the flash. Most likely there will be a warning on the display if risk of shake. it's a hand with an "!". Focus error will usually also give a warning in the display.

Focus error - can not get rid of . I have taken out the batteries and still comes on screen.

The focus mechanism for this camera is different from other Fuji cameras in that instead of using 3 evenly spaced guide pins like on smaller compacts or, a motor and drive thread like the S5600 or S5700. The S1000fd uses a guide rod and spring and 1 guide pin to move the focus lens up and down to sharpen the picture. 1 pin is all that can jam and cause problems. Getting to it involves desoldering the control board from the main board just to access the lens unit. Then desolder 2 ribbon strips and secure 2 tension springs before you can remove the lens construction.

The lens Is trying to close properly but the focus mechanism has a problem, most likely jammed, so the lens cannot correctly close or work properly.
It will need to be opened up and reset.

Fine-Pix A400 is showing Focus Error and will not allow photos to be taken. In addition, the lens will not retract when the camera is shut off. This problem occurred after using the zoom procedure several...

Here is a quick fix to try. If you attempted to remove the focus error doing the 3 times on and off, and it didnb't help to this. Power the camera on, you will hear the gear skipping as if it is slipping. Right at the moment you turn of the camera push the lens in manually slightly and gently. This will reposition the timing of the lens to focus. This usually fixes the Focus error when the lens is stuck in the out position and never retracts. I have had this happen twice, and it cleared both times by doing this. Good Luck

Hi there i have a auto focus problem. i used mt 50D for the first time on saturday, after about 100 shots Err99 appeared, i turned the camera off and took the battery out an the error message never occured...

The camera is having problems with your lens and this is why it goues into the error mode. Try first cleaning the interface contacts on the lens ( see enclosed pic ) . If this does not sort the problem out then the auto focus motor ( or related hardware ) inside the lens will need attention. Also try other lenses to see whether it is only the lens ( I very seldom see this sort of problem cause by the body ; it is always the lens that gives this sort of trouble )db49ae2.jpg

My FinePix A510

First check that the camera setup is not in the macro mode, or in a fixed focus mode of some type.

If there is an actual defect, it is possible that the focus helicoid in the lens has some abstruction or defect near to the end of its focus range. It is also possible that there is a fault with the focus sensing for the near to infinity point.

This is something you cannot fix yourself.

FOCUS ERROR

I also had this problem. When starting the focus error alert came. Trying to move the focus button also triggered this. When I turned it off, the lens did not pull back. After being close to trowing it away, I used a little bit more force than before and turned the lens manually. I heard a click, and than it worked again. PS: Follow this tip on your own risk.....
