I received the sony ericsson w595 as a christmas present and it came with media manager, i installed it and when ever i go to open it a error message comes up saying its encountered a problem and needs to close. It's soo annoying please help!!!
I had the same problem and couldn't find an answer anywhere, so I though I'd share how I got past it.
I did not have quicktime installed when I first ran the install for media manager, and as such it requested I install it from CD, which I did. It was after this was finished and returned to the main install that the install failed.
I found that quicktime did not consider itself completely installed until it was run for the first time. I booted up quicktime, allowed it to do it's first-time bits and pieces, until the default website appeared, then closed it.
I tried to install media manager again and it worked just fine.

If messages can be send then you must be able to receive them as well unless the service has errors. So check up with the serivce provider to check your number , make your complaint to this issue, the phone has the message center number installed and hence it is able to send , choose in the settings send and receive in the same number.
If it is application error then follow these steps: Warning: You should not install a version of BlackBerry Device Software that is earlier than the version installed on the BlackBerry smartphone. Doing so could cause the BlackBerry smartphone to malfunction. Before proceeding, make sure that the latest version of BlackBerry Device Software is installed on the computer by completing the following steps: Open BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Click Help. Select About Desktop Manager. Click the Device Software tab. Verify that the BlackBerry Device Software displayed is the latest version currently available from the wireless service provider. Warning: The following procedure will delete either all data, or all data and applications on the BlackBerry smartphone. Back up the BlackBerry smartphone data before proceeding. To perform a clean installation of the BlackBerry Device Software using BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.1 to 4.3, complete the following steps: Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer and open BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Double-click Application Loader. Click Next to start the installation process. Type your BlackBerry smartphone password, if prompted, and click OK. Select the check boxes next to the names of the applications you want to load, and then click Next. Click Advanced, and then select the check boxes beside Erase all application data and Erase all currently installed applications . Click Next. Select the check box next to Do not automatically backup the application data during the loading process (if prompted). Clear the check box next to Backup and restore applications installed wirelessly (if prompted). Click Next > Finish. When the process has completed, the message The loading operation was successful will appear. Click Close to return to BlackBerry Desktop Manager Note: BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.3 will display the Delete all application data and Delete all currently installed applications check boxes in step 6 of the above procedure. To perform a clean installation of the BlackBerry Device Software using BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.5 and 4.6, perform the following steps: Connect the BlackBerry smartphone to the computer and open BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Double-click Application Loader. Click Add/Remove Applications. Type your BlackBerry smartphone password and click OK. Select the check boxes next to the names of the applications you want to load. Click Settings, and then select the check boxes beside Delete all application data and Erase all currently installed applications. Click OK. Click Next > Finish. When the process has completed, the message The loading operation was successful will appear. Click Main Menu to return to BlackBerry Desktop Manager. Note: The Delete all application data and Delete all currently installed applications options are not available when using the Application Loader in BlackBerry Desktop Manager 4.5. A workaround for this issue is to use the Application Loader standalone file by performing the following steps: Open My Computer (or Computer in Windows® Vista?). Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader. Run the Loader.exe file and follow steps 3 through 9 above to complete a clean installation of the BlackBerry Device Software.
