Loads and Drains water but doesn't circulate water when washing

Motor is humming but not turning? I did notice a rubber smell yesterday when I started it and turned if off. I've checked the drain and chopper and found a few olive pits and a small 1.1/4 inch piece of black platics (hard). Any thoughts? BJ

Bits of black plastic are probably the impeller, sounds like something got caught in there and destroyed the impeller. If you are handy then you can buy an impeller kit and fix it, if you are not handy then I would recommend buying a motor and pump assembly and just replace the whole thing as one unit. Impeller kits are less than $40, while the motor and pump kit is more like $130. Hope this helps.

Maytag legacy series washer

The drive motor which spins the drum is connected to the drum by a rubber belt. Sounds like the belt is burned through. Make sure you can spin the inside tub by hand to verify that the tub can turn freely before you replace the belt. The hum is from the drive motor just spinning freely.

Whirlpool dishwasher wont wash

if the bottom tub is filling with water but not washing the issues is with the wash motor, some of this model use a start capacitor that can fail, if it has a capacitor on the side of the motor it may have failed but are difficult to diagnose but are cheap to replace so worth trying, if this doesn't help or if it doesn't have a capacitor then the fault is with the wash motor.

Gene, I have a Kenmore Elite model # 665

Hey Steve,Sorry it took me so long to answer i was offline and my add is not supposed to displayed when i am off line so sorry about that.
Now then on that dishwasher with the hum and no water circulation it sounds as if the main wash motor is jammed up for some reason it could be that the motor itself is defective or as simple as something such a piece of debris such as broken glass or almost anything caught in the motor causing it to not turn on,by disassembling the wash motor you can see if something is caught in,if nothing is caught in its a (sorry to say) the motor itself thats bad and would need to replaced. The reason the water drains even though it will not circulate is because of the separate drain pump that is working Please reply back after disassembling the pump to check for debris if ya need further assistance.
Thanks for using Fixya.Com,GENE

Slimy mold in rubber seal

Hi, Just dry the seal after a wash and leave the door open just a little. Leaving the door cracked will also help with the smell allowing air to circulate through the machine. ALL front loads have this problem with mold and that strange smell.

Motor just hums during the wash cycle. Put it in

OK, that piece of glass may have jammed the wash impeller. this will destroy the motor windings. you will need to gain access to the circulation motor asap.the impeller is attached to the motor that is housed within the pump casing(upper). try to manually move the impeller. if its stuck, try ot remove the obstruction.

It is possible that, the motor is already damaged to the point of no return. in this case, replace the circulation motor. your drain pump should be ran by a totally separate motor(wax).

**NOTE

Some models have two impellers inside the pump - one, wash impeller, takes care of the wash cycles, the other, drain impeller, drains the water out. If the drain impeller is broken (broken blades, shaft), the dishwasher would not drain. Replace any broken pump components.

Washing machine was making noise when agitating & spinning

This sure sounds like a bad transmission. Turn the transmission by hand to feel and listen to it. It should be smooth and quiet.
