Try opening the cover make sure the cover switch is not damaged. Also try powering the unit down and pull out the power supply cord that goes in the unit in the back. It should be a square retangle box that slips into a power port. Try removing it completly from the unit and inspect the power jack on the printer to make sure its not damaged. Also if its not damaged reconnect while the the printer cover is open turn power back on then close the door. Outside of that I would recommend checking with Dell at Technical Support 1-800-624-9896 to see if they have any product updates on it.

What is the version of your ink cartridge? It could be that it's not seated properly in the cartridge carrier. Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges. Close the cover. Unplug and replug the printer into the power outlet in the wall to reset it. When the printer turns on, open the printer cover and reinsert one cartridge first. Close the cover. If no error, open the printer cover and reinsert the other cartridge. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear. You could also try to insert a different known working cartridge to determine if the other is faulty.
I have a Brother HL-3040cn printer, led display says "unable to print 1A" how do i clear this? It also says to turn the power off and open the top cover wait 30 minutes then turn it back on. But this doesnt work?
Open that cover and look in the frame of the machine for an opening. Then look on the upper cover. There is an interlock switch on the machine. The plastic tab on the upper cover often times breaks off and will not actuate the switch, giving you that message. You can fix it by gluing a paper clip onto the cover. Or call 1-800-835-6100 and order a new cover.
& hold the cancel button untill all lights start flashing in a
sequence and then i release the button and close the front cover." "DO NOT release the button, but continue to hold down it while you close the front cover.
Printer offline: Right click on your printer in the "Printers and Faxes" folder and "UN Check" use printer off line,
Open the cover as if you would change the cartridge. Then press the
little black button . Keep it pressed, push
“copy” on the left and then the (print) black button on the right of
the lcd. The printer will somehow work and work. Wait until it rests
again. Then close the cover and press the black button again. Now it
should copy… and print, and so on.
Hope it helped. Let me know.
It seems like there is sensor issue, you can try few times by opening and closing it. IF that does't work may be you wanna try turn it off and on back again just to reset all sensors
we have same issue with our office printer some times and that's how we solve it ..
Good luck !! Hope it helps !!
Unplug the printer. Hold the printer cover open while you plug in the printer. Then wait for the printer to power on while still holding the cover open.
Then close the cover.
The buttons should work and th error message should be gone.
Yes sounds like you may have a broken or out of alignment hinge on your printer. Examine it very closely to see if you can align it without breaking it. If so try printing again to see if this fixes it. Restart your computer and printer after alignment of door.
