Is the TV set for the correct input?
I assume you are using HDMI?
If all settings and input selections are correct then I will have to say that either the HDMI cable is faulty, or the HDMI port on either the TV or PS3 could be faulty.
Check if PS3 can work on another TV with the HDMI cable.
Check if another Device can work on that TV with the HDMI cable.
Try another HDMI cable.
From this, you should be able to determine where the issue is sitting.
Hope this helps!
try only having the hdmi cable hooked up to ps3 and tv, turn off ps3 and hold power button for 5 or 10 seconds and you should hear 3 beeps, this should reset the ps3 and detect the settings, if this doesnt work you mmay have to manually change audio and video settings in the ps3 settings menu to hdmi output and auto detect which settings work.
have you made sure the hdmi out on the ps3 is turned on (its in the settings can't remember exactly where and i've just sold my ps3 so until i get 'round to putting another together i cant check for you) start with the menu on the extreme left then it's somthing named settings or similar have a look through it won't take long to find
If it's the first time using your PS3, use the composite cables that came with it. Turn on the PS3 go to video settings and switch the input to HDMI. After you've switched to HDMI, turn the PS3 off and connect your HDMI cable, go back to video settings and change the resolution to 1080p. If this isn't the first time you've used HDMI for your PS3, make sure your T.V. is on the correct input. If the T.V. is on the correct input, try switching the HDMI cable to a different input. If that doesn't work try using a different HDMI cable, testing different HDMI connections if you're still getting the black screen. If none of those work then it's probably a problem with the PS3, but just to make sure try plugging something else with HDMI to see if that works. If another HDMI device works, then it's your PS3, if it doesn't then it could be a problem with your HDMI connections on the T.V.
If you just bought the PS3 use your composite cables that came with the system. Turn the PS3 on and go to the video settings, set up video input to HDMI. After you've done that plug your HDMI back into your PS3 and try turning it on. If that works go back to video settings and change the resolution to 1080p. If that doesn't work make sure your T.V. is on the same input that the HDMI cable is plugged in. If it is and still doesn't work try switching to a different HDMI port. If switching to a different HDMI port doesn't work try a new HDMI cable. If the new HDMI cable doesn't work then there is a problem with the port on the PS3 which would require a repair.
plug the ps in with power cable only no hdmi. When turning on Hold down the power button until you hear a second set of beeps you have now reset the video settings. Turn the console off and plug in your hdmi and switch back on it should now work.
a few things to check. 1) does the TV tune to the appropriate HDMI port? If not then it isn't detecting a signal from the PS3. In that case you may not have HDMI output turned on. If you can reconnect the A/V cables then go to the system menu to display and set the output correctly. Start with 720p and work your way up to make sure you don't set it to a resolution that your TV can't handle. If you don' have the A/V cables then boot into safe mode and reset to default. This will reset the PS3 to out of the box settings (no data lost).
Have you tried reseting your option settings for video output? It could be set up for standard definition. There for not sending a 1080 signal through the HDMI, instead sending a different signal for SCART. There is a master way to do this as well. Think holding the off switch and turning of the master power button at the same time does it (do a search).
The settings on your PS3 may be to high for your TV. try turning off your PS3 and turning it back on, when you turn it on hold the power button untill it beeps aprox 10 sec. this will reset the your PS3 back to original (minimum settings)
