Trouble Filing Songs into Playlists

Will only let me start a playlist if song is in bookmark area. Is this the only area can select songs to start new playlists? Also, this is my major problem: how can I select songs and then put them into a certain playlist? I've tried playing with it by trial and error but nothing seems to work...basically each time I try, the one song I select turns the playlist into my entire library, so that doesn't work. Have had my Zen for 9 months and still cannot figure this thing out! Help!!!

Re: Trouble Filing Songs into Playlists

Ok, sounds like a problem I had when I was working out the software! The easiest way to create a playlist with the Zen, is doing it over your PC, if you don't have the software it is available for FREE download at the official creative Zen site, just choose your model and region then hit download- simple! (You won't need Zencast with sleek photo model) ok! install your software blah blah blah, once it's gone through that process, restart your pc and then plug in your zen. the software should instantly recognise that your player is connected, so now, you can open up the software via desktop shortcut or start menu. From here, you've got a whole ton of options, whether to add to your library, create playlists etc etc. Choose create playlist and the process is easy. Left side of the screen is navigation of your Library, right side is navigation of current playlists. Create a new list, then name it. From the top left of the screen, select a folder on your library to open, the lower left displays what's in the folder you are viewing. move tracks over accordingly, holding down ctrl while you click is a fast and easy way to select more than one track at a time. hit add in the center of the screen to move stuff over to your new list. when you're done, save it. when you exit the software and unplug your zen, it should take a minute to update itself, sometimes you may need to restart Zen also to get the playlists updated. I hope this helps!

There are already 5 playlists to choose from, so you just need to add songs to it. If you already have the songs you want on your media player, select one song you want to add to the playlist. Press the OK button to go to the music playing interface. Then hold the OK button for three seconds. This will takes you to the music submenu. Scroll down to "Add to MyList." Choose the playlist to add the song to. Repeat for each song.

Load music on my ipod

Connect your iPod to your computer with the USB cable that came with your iPod. The iPod screen should say "Do not disconnect".

Your iPod should appear under Devices in the bar to the left.

Decide whether you want to sync your iPod with your iTunes library or manually put songs on your iPod.(nano only)

Syncing your iPod will automatically add all of the songs in your library to your iPod. It will also delete any songs from your iPod that are not in your library. Click on your iPod icon and select Sync in the lower right corner.

If you do not want all the songs in your library on your iPod, make a playlist of all the songs you do want, or decide which playlists you want to include on your iPod.

Click on your iPod icon
On the top bar, click on the button which says "Music"

Make sure the box that says "Sync Music" is checked, then check the box for whether you want your iPod to sync with the entire library or selected playlists. If you click selected playlists, select the playlists you want in the playlists category. For newer iPods you can check which artists are included on your iPod to automatically import all the songs from each selected artist onto your iPod

Can't create playlists on my zen x fi

I tried some suggestions posted here, and after some testing, I can now give you step-by-step instructions to create a playlist on your Creative Zen.

First, you need to think of the NOW PLAYING list as the "selected songs to be added to a playlist".

So, to start clean, let's empty out the NOW PLAYING list as follows:
1) from the MUSIC menu, select NOW PLAYING
2) when a song is shown on-screen, click the context menu
3) select REMOVE ...
4) select REMOVE ALL
Now, the NOW PLAYING list is empty.

Now, you need to select (mark) the songs you want to add to your new playlist:
1) go to an individual song
2) click the context menu, and select ADD TO SELECTED
3) go to another desired song, and do step 2) again
4) repeat until done

Now, to create a NEW playlist, go to the MUSIC menu, then:
1) select NOW PLAYING
2) it will show you the first song that you selected
3) press the Right button, to scroll through all of the other songs you selected
4) when any song is shown on-screen, click the context menu
5) select SAVE AS PLAYLIST (this refers to ALL songs in your NOW PLAYING list)
6) type the name for your new playlist, and click checkmark
ALL of the songs in the NOW PLAYING list are now saved as your New playlist.

From the MUSIC menu, select PLAYLISTS. You will see the name of the playlist that you just created. When you select that playlist, you will see the list of songs you had selected.

Please note that these songs are still in your NOW PLAYING list also. To create a another New playlist, you will first need to empty out the NOW PLAYING list as you did above.

I hope that helps.

How do you make playlists

I had the same problem. Once you've bookmarked songs (using the squiggly button on the right), go into "library" (using arrow button on the left), then enter (middle button), down to "bookmark", enter, then "favourites 1" (for example), enter, "play all", enter. This will play what you've bookmarked in order.

As for "playlist".... I'm still stumped, but this should do instead!

Philips GoGear SA3245 - Playlists Not Showing Up on Player

Have solved this problem on GoGear syncing with WMP 11 by going to options on the device itself, then go to the "settings" option, scroll down to "PC Connection Preferences", from here you will select the check box saying "MTP" then back out of options and connect your device and go back to your WMP 11 and drag your playlists to the syncing area and resync your device. You should then be able to see your playlists under the playlist option in music along with the "playlist on the go" playlist.

Hope this will help!

Probelm with playlists

The Vista compatible software may work different, but I have mine set to Repeat OFF, and I have no problem with playlist play. Is it possible that the songs that you put on your playlist are in the wrong format? If they were streaming files, or DRM-encrypted WMA's, there may be issues with playback. Convert the songs in your playlists to mp3 format ON THE COMPUTER, and then delete the playlists that are not working OFF YOUR SANSA. And then re-add the playlists to your Sansa.

How to download

If you are asking how to add songs to you iPod
(assuming you want to use iTunes)

Sync your iPod with iTunes

  1. Connect your iPod to your computer.
  2. When the iPod icon appears in the iTunes window (below Devices), select it.
  3. If the Summary pane isn't showing, click the Summary tab.
  4. To automatically sync your iPod:
    1. Make sure that "Manually manage music" is not selected.
    2. Click the Music tab and do one of the following:
    3. To automatically update your iPod with all the songs and playlists in your library, select "Sync music" and then select "All songs and playlists." iTunes loads the songs and playlists in your iTunes library onto your iPod, and deletes songs from your iPod that aren't in your library.
    4. To automatically update your iPod with only certain playlists, select "Sync music" and "Selected playlists," and then select the playlists you want synchronized.
  5. To manually sync your iPod:
    1. Make sure that "Manually manage music" is selected.
    2. Click Music (below Library, on the left side of the iTunes window) and then drag songs and playlists to your iPod.
