Door Lock Clicks/Makes noises Washer does not agitate/spin

The door lock on washer seems to be making clicking or buzzing noises and the washer fills and starts to turn to wash then stops. When turned to the spin cycle the water drains but usually will not spin. I lifted the front thinking it was not level & it did start spinning well then leveled the washer & it started not washing or spinning again. The door lock light is on but seems to be blinking out a little.

Thanks for leading me in the right direction. What was making the motor not able to turn the drum was that I had the washer plugged into an energy saving box that said it was for gas dryers and washing machines. My old washer worked fine with the energy saver but the newer front loading washer did not work until I plugged it directly into the wall socket, giving the motor the power it needed. Thanks again!

I have Adora frontloaders and my washer was doing the same thing, not rinsing. I could literally squeeze the water off of the clothes. Come to find out, I needed to clean the filter that is on the inside part behind the bottom panel. Open the washer's door and there is a screw on each corner, take those off and remove the panel, there is a white tube with a gray lid on it, remove the lid (make sure you have a garbage can or something where the gunk can drop into), let it drain out and presto its done!!

Sounds like very worn motor brushes to me, as its trying to turn the drum but has'nt the power needed to maintain any momentum, and the blinking door light is because of the bad cotact from brushes to motor.About £20 for a set of brushes or get an engineer to fit new brushes, but get a price first.

I have a Frigidaire FTF530ES1 front load washer that doesn't spin or agitate. The door lock light comes on and I don't think it is that. It fills with water, then you can hear the clicks for each cycl

Good Morning Vickie,

I understand that your Frigidaire washer, model# FTF530ES1, will not spin or agitate. I also see that the door lock light came on so you checked the door latch, due to it not unlocking right away. Now, you have removed the back panel and restarted the cycle, to find out that the motor is not coming on. There is a possibility that it could be the motor, or it could be something completely different that is causing your washer to not spin or agitate. I suggest contacting your local authorized technician for further assistance. They will be able to diagnose your washer and determine why it is not spinning. I hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

How can I use jumpers to test 131763202 Frigidaire door lock switch on washer? Won't agitate or spin.

Hi slogjlog - Often when a unit does not spin or agitate, it is because the unit cannot properly drain and dispose of the water and detergent solution. Does the unit make a humming noise? If so, the drainage hose/pump may be clogged and needs to be cleaned. If not, the washer may possibly be experiencing an issue with the door lock assembly, faulty pump, timer or control board not communicating correctly. Because it could be a number of any one of several underlying causes, I would recommend contacting a professional to properly diagnose and repair the unit.

Either the control board or the motor has gone bad. Here is the diagnostic mode to run to look for the errors.
The diagnostic test is performed by using the Program Knob. To START THE TEST: • On non-digital display models, turn the Program Knob to start position, Drain/Spin. • On digital display models, turn the Program Knob to start position, Touch Up. • Press Pause/Cancel to turn off LEDs. • Within 5 seconds, press and hold the Option and Pause Cancel buttons until LEDs start sequentially chasing, then release buttons. 1. All the LEDs will sequentially light. Pressing a button below a light cluster will light all the LEDs in that cluster at one time to confirm functionality. 2. Turn the program knob (1) click clockwise from the start position. The hot water solenoid will activate and hot water should enter through the detergent compartment. 3. Turn the program knob (2) clicks from the start position. The bleach water solenoid will activate and cold water should enter through the bleach compartment. 4. Turn the program knob (3) clicks from the start position. The bleach and the wash water solenoids will activate and cold water should enter through the softener compartment. 5. Turn the program knob (4) clicks from the start position. The door lock solenoid will activate. 6. Turn the program knob (5) clicks from the start position. The door lock solenoid will deactivate and the loading door can be opened. 7. Turn the program knob (6) clicks from the start position. The washer will fill and tumble. 8. Turn the program knob (7) clicks from the start position. The washer will fill and spin (leakage test). 9. Turn the program knob (8) clicks from the start position. The drain pump and door lock solenoid will activate and the washer will operate in high spin. SAFETY WARNING: If power is removed during this test, the door can be opened. To prevent injury, DO NOT put your hands inside when the tub is rotating. 10. Turn the program knob (9) clicks from the start position. The control will signal the last error code.
