Question about PC Desktops

How do I use the Medion E86002 webcam?

I have setup the webcam and associated drivers as instructed without a problem. However when I try and record on "videoimpression5" the screen shows "live" but neither image or sound is recorded? The red light is lit on the camera and I'm running XP. Also an error message comes up saying file type "vi" is not recognised? Any assistance would be greatly welcome!!

Some webcams and programs require additional software, although that should be installed with the webcam if things are right.
But is does not harm to check if your Java, Flash and Quicktime software are installed and up to date.
But certainly check your DirectX software, since all video applications, including webcams, use DirectX for video processing.
Try downloading the latest DirectX version and install it (Windows XP: DirectX 9.0c
Windows Vista: DirectX 10).

Please I have a MEDION M3 Composer 5200 PC Desktop that was operating on windows vista. I changed the operating system to windows xp SP3 for teaching basis and I have been searching for its VGA and Audio...

Here's a link to the Medion driver/support download page, I tried searching for M3, 5200 and Composer but had no results so I'd suggest you try searching by the MSN as recommended to increase your chances. Don't know if you've tried this but you could always right click on the device within control panels device manager and select the update driver software option to let Windows download one if you don't have any luck with the Medion site. Hope you get it fixed.

Hi! try to check if the driver for the webcam is installed on the machine, go to start->right click on my computer->properties->hardware->device manager. Check if the driver is there, uninstall and reinstall the driver by following the steps below:

Drivers
1.Click Start > My Computer.
2.Double-click the icon for XP (C:) drive.
3.You may see a message saying "These files are hidden". Click the Show the contents of this folder option.
4.Double-click the Applications folder.
5.Double-click the Drivers folder.
6.Inside this folder you will see folders for each device you can re-install, for example, Audio.
7.Double-click the folder and look for an icon called Setup.exe or Install.exe.
8.Double-click the icon and follow any on-screen instructions to re-install the driver.
9.After installing drivers it is recommended that you restart your computer.

***you have to run a program or a software (yahoo messenger, etc) for you to test if the webcam if it is working or not***

hope this helps...

I can't find drivers for my medion md-1704 computer

hi there, to help you, you will more than likely need to contact the company to get the drivers for your computer, the disk the company sends you will have the configuration for all components and hardware that comes with it, ususally, the cost is like 20...for the recovery disk and or restore disks.......this would be alot safer since you don't know from whom the drivers will be downloaded, or if it will be for others to control your computer without your ok, .....good luck....shia

Seems like you will need to get your hands on a restore disk or windows installation cd for the version you have.

You will need to either restore the computer to the original state or install a fresh installation of windows from the setup cd, after that you need to get the drivers for the computer from medion support.
