First of all check out does both the LCD tv and laptop both have vga cable input socket This is the most important step, as it will allow you to buy the right equipment. VGA cable is the standard 15-pin connection that you would use to connect a monitor to a PC or laptop. Use a VGA cable to connect your laptop's VGA output with the television's VGA input. Use separate audio connection with mini-jack (3.5 mm) to RCA adapter. Turn on your devices. Once you've made the connections, turn devices on. Switch your TV to the input mode that corresponds with the input you used to connect your laptop, and you should now view your laptop on your LCD TV. This will help.Good luck.
You never mentioned what model Philips TV you have, however I've researched several and most seem to have a VGA video port in the back of them. If you have one of these (15 pin D connector) on the back of your TV you should be able to purchase a corresponding VGA cable (you'll want female pins on one side of the cable and male pins on the other side) and plug one side into the VGA port on your laptop and the other cable into the TV. Then use your TV remote to select that input. Should work fine!

I dont believe that laptop has an HDMI port on it. If you have an LCD TV then your TV may have a VGA or DVI input on it. You can connect your laptop to the TV by using a VGA to VGA or VGA to DVI cable. If you your TV doesn't have one of these input ports, then you're not going to get your laptop connected to your TV.
Well, there are a few questions I need to ask so I can help answer your question correctly-
how are you connecting your computer to your TV? Is it a VGA, DVI, or a HDMI cable?
How many "input" channels can your TV support?
Have you updated the video drivers on your laptop?
Answering these questions will greatly increase the ability of a technician to help solve your problem, and I hope to hear back from you soon!
usually laptops have vga conector for external display, you may need a cable, vga cable.
vga cable varies depends on the connection that you have on the tv, if your tv supports vga connectors thats great, some tv doesnt have that option, thats where adapters go in to adapt what ever ports or connections you have on your tv.
some of the cable adapters that you might need.
vga to hdmi.
vga to rca.
vga to dvi.
