Question about Jenn-Air JJW8630C Expressions Collection Electric Double Oven

5 Answers

JJW8630CAB A week ago, I replaced the control panel when the display went out. The new control panel is working good. Now bottom oven will not work. The bottom burner and the broiler will not heat at all. The light and fan, on bottom oven, works as should. I turned on the broiler and the fan came on but burner would not heat. Husband cleaned both ovens a week ago. The top oven works. Last year we had a pyrex dish explode in the bottom oven. It was cleaned thoroughly and has worked until now. Any ideas? Signed, Wife who takes care of all.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Offhand in most ovens, there is a thermal probe that look like an elongated thermometer with electrodes/2 wires. This is the temp probe inside the oven. If it is faulty, the controller will not switch on either or both the upper & lower heating elements.

Or it might just be an open heating element.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy New Year.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Click this link for more information....

Most likely the problem with your oven is a bad igniter. The first thing you do is a visual test. Turn the oven on, wait at least 30 seconds and take a look at the igniter. It should glow very bright red, almost close to white. Normal time for the igniter to open the gas burner valve and to light up the burner is between 40 second to 1 minute. If it glows red but not bright, the igniter is bad and has to be replaced. If it does not glow at all, remove the power from the range, remove the igniter wires and check for continuity between these wires. If there is no continuity, replace the igniter.

thanks
good luck

The glass dish exploding may have amaged the thermocouple that controls the lower burner, or may have damaged the valve or cut a wiring leading to control assembly.

All this parts must be inspected.

Enter model number here to find assembly diagrams and parts.

Dacor bottom oven not heating

I have a DACOR double electric oven model ECD230SCH. the top oven lower element went out 1 and 1/2 years ago, but the top element broiler works. Yesterday the bottom oven did the same thing- bottom element not working along with convection. Pulled off doors and cut breaker. Checked thermal switch on top off oven- closed good. Pull out element and Ohm'ed out- good. Now pulled over and out oven top panel to get to the control boards. Found a nice set of schematics for the over control boards and electronics. Sat down and pin-pointed both relays that supply power to upper and lower oven "lower" heating elements. these are on 2 different boards- upper over relays on bigger board on the left with the transformer. Lower oven on the right smaller board. Hardest pain in the rear was just getting the little plastic stand offs to push back through the board to get it off. Finally got it off and inspected board. Low and behold the relay I pin-pointed had a burn/open connection on the solder joint. Re-soldered tested oven and lower oven lower heat element works now! Went to the next board and got that off and same exact problem on the rely for the top oven lower element. Re-solder and test- good!! Put everything together and ran over to 350 on top and lower and back to normal. Wife very happy she did not have to pay a repair man big bucks to swap out the control boards- would have had to replace both.

I have a degree in electronic technology so as a technician for many years did low and high voltage component level repairs. But pretty easy and you can visually see the open solder joint on the back of the board at the relay leg.

Frigidaire oven wont heat up but stovetop and digital all works

Hello angeleyez82 - The EOC (electronic oven control/control board) basically sends power to both the broil and bake elements. As long as the power supply to the range (240VAC) and wiring between the elements is correct, then typically only the element(s) or EOC could prevent the unit from heating. I hope this information helps to some degree.

Yes, that sounds like a relay on the oven control board. Here is the part to order that has a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy so you may want to order from them.

Did you replace the panel yourself? If it was a repairman it should be under warranty. Anyway I would think that after the supply has been turned off overnight the timer would reset itself. If that doesn't work and you don't want to keep mucking around with control panels and you can do without the electronic clock the control panel can be easily bypassed by a repairman. This will then enable manual oven operation.

I'm afraid I don't know how to help you get a new control panel (part #WB36K5065 is no longer available). But we have the same oven and a similar problem. Our control panel works just fine, but the face is melted from a recent mishap (small fire in the upper oven while broiling), so the plastic face of the control panel looks awful and needs replacing. If you decide to replace your oven and would like to sell the front face to your control panel we'd love to purchase from you.

Thermador SC302 double oven the top oven is not getting hot

We've had the same problem. I contacted a local sales room and they contacted their rep who promptly mailed the replacement parts I requested (I'd looked up the part numbers already). Now I'm waiting to find someone who will reasonably do the work.

E2 F6 ??? What the? Oven came with house, no manual.

Your oven temperature sensor has failed(e-2) as well as your electronic control board(f-6). The oven temp sensor, electronic control board and the touchpad must be replaced . Approximate cost of parts is $500.00. Before you decide what to do, check the thermal fuse at the control panel first. If blown, replace it and the temp sensor. If you are lucky the control board may still be good.

Display on my Jenn-Air electric wall oven is very dim

douglas9101,
I had the same problem and found the solution on-line.
Replace the C3 capacitor on the dispaly module. (100 UF, 35 volt, high temperature)
The local Jenn Air dealer wanted $211 for a new display module.
I purchased a Cap from a local electronics supply store for 79cents.
The only problem is that you need to have a soldering pencil/iron, a solder ******/wick and a small amount of solder.

Steps I had to take on my oven:
- Flip the AC breaker supplying the oven to off to be save
- remove 3 screws on top and 4 on the bottom of the display panel
- gently pull out the display panel and unplug the 2 cables to the display
- unclip the ribbon cable to the display module
- unclip the module itself by pushing on the 2 black tabs
- locate C3
- unsolder C3 and replace with new Cap- keeping the polarity strip the same as theh old Cap
- reasemble in reverse order.

It took me all of 20 minutes. It may sound difficult but is very easy if you have the tools
Good Luck
K

It appears that the timer has gone faulty, possibly because of a short in the bulb holder, which probably explains why there is no display and the main oven not working. the top will still work as it is not controlled by the timer.
the solution hear would to be fit a new timer.

Whirlpool Double oven - control panel stopped working

Atlanta...sounds like you may have a power supply problem or the panel is bad. Cut the power, open the unit up and see if there is a fuse in there or a reset. No good? Then replace the circuit board. They just, well, die sometime. Happened to my microwave. Some units may be available remanufactured. Look around on the web.
