Question about Bosch Axxis WTL 5410 Electric Dryer

Dryer won't start...

Have had this Bosch dryer for about 3 years.... Recently it has not been starting. I tried taking the filter out last time and it eventually started again after airing out for a day. This time it is not starting at all. The timer works and counts down but it never turns on. Any ideas...could it need new fuses?

ok, so I took it all apart and tried to figure out what was going on.

If I turned it on and press start nothing happened. If I then opened the door a current ran thru the circuit board (small flash of light) and the drum spun a little bit.

If I pressed door again after I shut it no spark and no spinning. (I am guessing because I didn't press start)

Now, the interesting part...If I dont allow the door to open and hold in the door button it will start the dryer and it will run accordingly.

Do you think its the start button having a bad connection or a bad button? If it was a bad capacitor it wouldn't work at all correct?

If timer is timing down then it has power so fuse is ok. there is no internal fuse. two things to check if you can hear a low humming noise when drum should be turning, then the motor capacitor is faulty - very common fault and part not dear. no need to get bosch part - you should be able to source test for this fault, take top off and push the drum. if it starts turning then this confirms the fault check also door catch - this operates an internal switch nand if catch is broken then appliance will not start

you are quite right. bad capacitor then no drum rotation.

sounds like fault is in the start relay which is mounted on the pcb. relay not replaceable separately

worthwhile examining the pcb closely to see if track damaged or any dry joints.

My dryer runs for several minutes, then starts beeping and an error code E: 01 is displayed. I've tried unplugging it for 30 minutes, but that was no help. Any ideas?

This means that the dryer is not able to exhaust correctly. Often times this is caused by kinked or blocked vent behind the dryer. If that looks ok, the vent in the wall may need to be cleaned. In this case or in most a professional dryer vent cleaner would be needed to clean the dryer vent.

One last thing you can check is the lint screen. On Bosch dryers the lint filter will become clogged from the dryer sheets. Remove the lint filter and run water through it. If water runs through, the lint filter is good.

Did you check this FIXYA LINK below? Appears to have lot's of answers!

Also I WATCHED the YOUTUBE video I recommended and NOTICED his DRIVE BELT is WAY too loose! Methinks THAT is why his dryer has problems!

Be SURE your belt is not to aged because they can STRETCH and then TRIP the "RESET SWITCH" he's talking about. Note the way his PULLEY shakes so violently... AND the action of the belt itself...

I recently had an ventless Bosch dryer installed (WTE8600US) and I keep receiving this message F:03 which the manual says "check hose for condensation outlet". any advice?

For the F:03 problem on the Bosch Axxis (WTE86300US) do all the things mentioned in Solution #1 above. Sometimes the lint in the condensation filter channels (those that run from front to back)can be quite stuck. Use a pipe cleaner to get in there or a garden hose with a spray nozzle. However there is one more crucial step not mentioned in the manual or in Solution #1. Once you remove the condensation filter you will see a small plastic panel on the lower wall of the condensation filter slot. Slide a flat blade screwdriver and gently pop it open. Under the panel is a small chamber where you will find a slurry of lint/water which is what clogs the condensation outlet. With latex gloves reach in there and clean it out. Blow hard into the dryer through the condensation hose to clear up any last bits. Pop the panel back in place. This should fix your problem.

Dryer not working, indicates "lint filter" When I try to use the dryer (Bosch Nexxt), i first turn the dryer to the setting desired (regular or perm press, and time) it immediately has the "lint filter"...

This is a common complaint with this dryer. The probe generating this problem,is at fault. It likely has a film on it,from the dryer sheets.Remove the lint screen, and wipe down the probe that sticks into the air box.Should fix the problem,if not ,replace the probe.

Bosch Axxis Starts and stops

The lint light keeps coming on and shuts the dryer off so clothes are not dry. I checked the filter and it is clear. Now the bottom of filter is cracked (plastic part) so I need to replace. But why does the lint light come on now after 5 years of use? It never came on before even when the lint filter was full?

I don't own this model of the Bosch dryer, but my guess is that your hot air flow path is partially blocked with lint or something else. Our heating/air flow element was blocked with a errant latex club hit the elements. I cleaned the flow path and removed the heater obstruction with good results for nearly a year to date.

Bosch Dryer lint filer warning

The Bosch Dryer has a temperature probe in the heater exit and in the exhaust area visible when you open the door. If the temperature difference between the two gets to high, the lint filter is assumed to be plugged and the alarm goes off.

It seems that the temperature probe at the heater, can end up with a faulty connection to the control panel over time due to corroded contacts or lint build up. When this happens the control panel thinks the filter is clogged and it may also not turn on the heating elements properly. Remove the back cover over the heating element (12 screws) and then remove the one screw holding the red wiring connection to the dryer body. You can then wiggle out the wiring connection and clean / unplug and replug in the connector for the sensor. (plug with two small wires only). A little hard feeding the connector back through the hole so take your time and don't damage the wires). Should all work again. May want to inspect inside the heater at same time and make sure the overheating switch is not tripped. ( press in the red button).

Addition to original problem...

you are right. faulty capacitor then no drum rotation. fault may lie with start relay on pcb and this is not repleceable as a separate part. worth while taking pcb out and examine carefully for damaged track and dry joints
